Shorty Long - A Whiter Shade of Pale
a fantastic cover of the Procol Harum song, Shorty Long was signed to the Motown label and sadly passed away in 1969 at the age of 29, he doesn't seem to get the recognition a lot of other Motown artists get

Not a big black or post metal fan, but I thought at least the first track from this album was incredible.

Bobb Trimble, my dudes. Psychedelic-ish singer-songwriter from the 80's. Voice is very femine.

Artist: Boy George. Song: Satan's Butterfly Ball. Album: Cheapness And Beauty.
I'm a big fan of Culture Club and George's solo work. "Cheapness and Beauty" is (IMO) George's best solo album. It's very Glam Rock with some great ballads throughout. Highly recommended.

Not sure on the obscurity level on some of these:
Caitlin Rose is one of my favorite artists, and I heard of her indirectly because of Mystery Science Theater 3000. Since I was a fan of that show, and silly old sport events, I naturally gravitated to Cheap Seats with the Sklar Brothers on ESPN Classic. I started listening to their podcast Sklarbro Country, and this song was recommended on one episode. I have a general dislike for most modern country music, and this song was such a breath of fresh air. She has two fantastic covers of Arctic Monkeys songs out there, "Piledriver Waltz" and "Love is a Laserquest", I recommend both very highly. As well as her version of The National's "Pink Rabbits".
I have no idea where I heard this song. But it's funky, disco-y, and danceable.
I don't know how to describe this song with any satisfactory degree of accuracy. It's weird, dissonant at times, it samples 1980s German synth rock, but I don't know...it kind of works?
Hungarian electro-folk. This one is a very old but somewhat famous song - Queen performed it when they played Budapest in 1986.

Fight Paris were a swagalicious rock n’ roll band with strong metalcore influences that put out an album on Trustkill back in 2005. I find myself still spinning it from time to time, and I never see them mentioned anywhere.
Definitely worth a listen if you’re interested in a less articulate ETID, or a band that makes party music that you can also mosh to.

Not really so obscure, but these are surely not-so-known outside Finland. \m/ w/ translations.
Wind gets colder Sun is blood red Sky grows darker What will tomorrow bring?
Whispers are heard from the world like suffocated shouts of pain light vibration is felt under your legs will there be volcano eruptions?
In the crowd you are also standing jumping up and down without moving faceless guards know all the ways to keep the crowd on its place
Your button pins have rusted already your vinyls are worn out safety pins and chains broken and money disappeared to someone's pocket
Run wild child run further there you will grow stronger and more free run for your life take the spark of hope with you sky is filled with hot steel maybe soon, no one knows of it...
Zeitgeist is now, just go for it Soul of the time is just an illusion Body of the time is rottening at the dump Sky of the time is ripping on assembly lines
Street are filled with petty bourgeois Pigs walking on their suit jackets Petty minded cowards and petty old brats
Run wild child run further there you will grow stronger and more free run for your life take the spark of hope with you sky is filled with hot steel maybe soon, no one knows of it...
Today you must not believe today you must forget today you must not feel pain today you have to shake your ass in disco
And streets are full of idiots pathetic losers cynical scholars slack chickens and roosters
Run wild child run further there you will grow stronger and more free run for your life take the spark of hope with you sky is filled with hot steel maybe soon, no one knows of it...

Sister, I would like to share this night with you
But my heart is pounding too much The voice of the world is too strong I am restless I want to see the fire whose smoke I am already smelling The life is ringing in my ears, smelling in the wind I am on fire My chest is aching, my heart wants to fly Ride with the wind
Although your arms are velvet and the world is asphalt...
Sister I would like to stay But the highway is hot The city lights are screaming at me I would like to explain (but the ship is waiting) You are a dream for me, but the world is reality It is! The world is reality, it is, is...
I am leaving for to world to find myself Deep inside from me When I find it I will bring it to you as a present Maybe for eternity It is not right to leave But you have to follow the star Waves are somewhere 60 meters high When the winds get angry
The moon is rust red, I heard.. And so sad I am not going to believe anything Before I see it with my own eyes
Sister I would like to stay But the highway is hot The city lights are screaming at me I would like to explain (but the ship is waiting) You are a dream for me, but the world is reality It is! The world is reality, it is, is...
