Jim Ross: Xcalibur, who are those young go getters?
Xcalibur: That's the The Butcher & The Blade sir, and their manager, Allie?
Jim Ross: Allie, eh, new?
Xcalibur: Sir, she's been here for months.
Jim Ross: One of those Orientals? Any relation to Emi Sakura?
Xcalibur: They spell and pronounce their last names differently? And the term Orientals is offensive sir.
Jim Ross: Balderdash! No Thimble nuttered, flungers, cabdabblers, and smendlers will stop me from my job.

I saw the Butcher And The Blade for the first time at Balls Out, and holy shit, did they blow me away. Their look, their teamwork, everything made me a fan of these guys instantly.
Then I did some digging around and found out it was the guitarist from Every Time I Die and Braxton Sutter, and I was stunned.
Then I ran into them heading back from eating after the show, and they were the greatest guys, and I would f***ing go to war for them now.
What a nutso year this has been. God I wish I could go to TID The Season now.

They've definitely got my attention. They have a really unique look, and there's a nice bit of continuity to the attack, something AEW's been really good at. It's nice to have moments where you go "oh, yeah, that makes sense" after thinking about it, rather than being bludgeoned over the head with exposition at every turn.
It should be a running joke with Excalibur that he somehow recognizes and knows the names of literally everyone on the indy scene.

I said it in the live thread, but Excalibur's old moniker during his active wrestling days was "The Smartest Man in Wrestling". Every so often, there's a kernel of truth behind these self-aggrandizing nicknames.

Reading online i'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking it might have been Marty under the mask. Given how they look, they wouldn't be too far off from being cronies to Scrull tbh Butcher even has a monacle

Just give Allie the mic and BBB will be fine, like how Uno got the mic and the Dark Order improved 10000x times.

It can be like when primetime wrestling would go into the real world and Gorilla Monsoon knew everyone by name.It never failed to pop me.

Thought that guy was Silas Young at first. As did I for a second. It was certainly a unique debut, I liked it. I thought it was him too.

Said it during the show thread, as well, but Williams is a goddamned bruiser, and AEW could use a few more guys like that, so I'm pumped on that front.
Now they need to start looking into a few technical/submission based wrestlers and I'll be really happy.

I remember going to the first Joey Janela Spring Break show, and the second match on the show was Allie and Braxton Sutter doing a pro-Impact gimmick (at the same time the Hardys broke away from Impact) against Penelope Ford and Andy Williams. Now, all four of them are on AEW TV, and three of them are the same act. This is a wild time.

Kind of the first WTF moment for me in AEW. Some vignettes would've helped.

Pepper parks looks creeper with that hairloss.
Andy Williams looks like an ex con body builder type.
Together they look like a wcw saturday night tag team.
I mean the lack of hair makes them look older and grimier. But they also look like the gambler and rick fuller
