Down 230,000 viewers. Thanksgiving hit them hard especially. Need the big rebound this week.

Sucks, but yeah, biggest travel day of the year sees a big drop in total Wednesday wrestling viewership.
Still, they can't like that gap between them and NXT, though yeah, they at least got the demo.

Like, by all accounts it's not a bad number and the network's probably happy about retaining the key demo but compared to how it's been, it's not a massively great number either.
This week'll be interesting with the card they're stacking up.

That’s not good. Thanksgiving eve, sure but NXT shouldn’t have done that much better despite the key demo win

I think the problem with all this now is that since that interview with the Turner executives, we don't actually know what the target is now for AEW considering they expected a starting point of 300-400,000 so even hitting 600,000 would be good. But then there's the head to head to consider now and the highs of around 900,000 from before so we consider it not good but does TNT? Are they just banking on the demo win?
It's weird, this whole war's been weird. Not downplaying anything but it's really hard to build a "narrative" of sorts.

That’s not good. Thanksgiving eve, sure but NXT shouldn’t have done that much better despite the key demo win I think it's kind of a mix of factors - I wouldn't be surprised if older people do less travel or have less going on during the week, plus NXT's coming off being put over huge at Survivor Series. If it's a trend that continues this week then I'd say it's worth worrying about.

While we can see 400,000 is what they were looking for and the highest of highs was 900,000 I think expectation might have been higher hoping that number is realistic and it looked to be so for a while I think they are fine with 600,000 range but def don't want to see the number keep dropping

May be time for fans to concede that pro wrestling is a dying main stream fandom. “Bad ratings” a reflection of the times and not necessarily the product

Less wrestling, more angles, stories and characters. Make the show more different to NXT.
AEW have had some great matches so far but there's no heat there or reason to invest. They need to do a better job with their feuds. Everything seems scattered.
Enjoying the shows a lot but there's things to improve on going into 2020.

They beat NXT in every demo except 50+, where NXT kicked their asses (.25 to .40; that's a 150,000 person difference). And that was enough to make up the difference in overall numbers.

While I was entertained by the Jericho Appreciation segment, it might be best if Dynamite doesn't open the shows with long promos like WWE usually does. Rarely would be fine, and if the opening promo doesn't go more than five minutes.

The return of Cody i'm surprised didn't draw viewers
I mean he was only out two weeks but that was his first match since the PPV

The usual whining has started about total viewership being more important than the key demographic. I'd love to go back through all the Monday Night War ratings to see how often Nitro actually won with the key demo.

Might be the first time in this back-and-forth that Dynamite are somewhat on the back foot. They’ll need to make this next month or so count, because WWE aren’t far away from Rumble-WrestleMania season and that could mean bigger things for NXT this time around.

From John Pollock's summary on POST Wrestling:
NXT’s over 50 audience was the only demo that stayed even among the two shows from last week. Every other category was down for the shows.
The biggest losses for AEW were among males 18-49 and 12-34 with drops of 37% for each with adults 18-34 down 36%. The audience they retained most was adults over 50, which were down 14% from last week.
NXT saw their females 12-34 fall 42%, people 18-34 down 37%, and males 12-34 down 25%.

This is what happens when you make fun of old timers. Senior citizens often retaliate in record numbers. Who's the boomers now you ragamuffins
