I don't think there's a lot takeaway from either result this week besides older people don't travel much, which isn't any big revelation.

That’s not good. Thanksgiving eve, sure but NXT shouldn’t have done that much better despite the key demo win NXT demo also decreased except the 50+ which once again helped NXT win in overall viewership.

I think we need to see what happens this week before we jump to conclusions. There are too many "firsts" with this company to fairly judge it right now either way.

Less wrestling, more angles, stories and characters. Make the show more different to NXT. AEW have had some great matches so far but there's no heat there or reason to invest. They need to do a better job with their feuds. Everything seems scattered. Enjoying the shows a lot but there's things to improve on going into 2020. They have done that the last few weeks. They build the Intercircle and Jericho with just that. Had some squash matches and ext. That's the thing about AEW, they don't want to end up being like Raw or Smackdown. Hell there not fully the same as NXT either. This was the first real week that there was a major difference in the overall ratings. NXT for the first time last week beat them but not by much and they where a stacked show leading up to a major PPV. This week was there post PPV show. Fans still interested in that much like they where a couple weeks ago post full gear. Now I don't blame the Thanksgiving travel because NXT would been effected just as much. This week we will see what the numbers are and until than I'm not going to be all full panic button just yet.

Somewhat disappointing but understandable given the holiday.

The usual whining has started about total viewership being more important than the key demographic. I'd love to go back through all the Monday Night War ratings to see how often Nitro actually won with the key demo. Did they use to report the demos back then? I only remember reading about the overall “rating” and not even the viewership number.

Especially at a time when more people watched Football than they do now, which would have eaten up a lot of demos if those were a thing.

Children buy more merchandise and it is MUCH harder to make someone young watch TV shows.

In 1998-2000, wrestling never beat MNF, but it did take away a lot of 18-35 and 18-49 viewers. ABC even put out a release to potential MNF sponsors encouraging them to not "wrestle with their ad dollars."

But some people pretend Key Demos were never a thing but there was TV Shows(Mainly Niche and Cartoons)That died because they were popular...with the wrong demo. WWE never really had to worry about it before.SD & RAW were staples and the only wrestling. You still don't see people caring about their Key demos because it is irrelvant to then at the moment NXT and AEW are much smaller(and competing) ,they NEED the key demo to survive

I mean, I knew wrestling never beat MNF but it was still funny they were that concerned about it back then.

It was Thanksgiving Eve and stuff, but let's also acknowledge that by and large, even people here weren't thrilled with this episode.

From John Pollock's summary on POST Wrestling: NXT’s over 50 audience was the only demo that stayed even among the two shows from last week. Every other category was down for the shows. The biggest losses for AEW were among males 18-49 and 12-34 with drops of 37% for each with adults 18-34 down 36%. The audience they retained most was adults over 50, which were down 14% from last week. NXT saw their females 12-34 fall 42%, people 18-34 down 37%, and males 12-34 down 25%. Yeah, that about answers that: younger people are more likely to travel or be out partying the night before Thanksgiving while it seems the older folks are more likely to be hosting and thus staying home. Figure things will look a lot more "normal" after this Wednesday, though I'm sure it'll be close between the two shows again.

I can't believe AEW is ****ing dead...again. Guess I gotta' go back to the cucking show.
For real though, it's disappointing but I have faith they'll bounce back.

I had an 8 hour drive, watching Dynamite was not an option.
