Chris Jericho due to the board of directors of AEW has it in his contract that he must have one final match in the year of 2019 and it will be for the AEW World Title on the December 18th Episode of Dynamite.
After running off a list of names of who he will NOT defend against, his challenger than appeared and it turned out to be none other than representing The Jurassic Express, Jungle Boy.
Should be a fun match and Jericho has made both Darby and Sky look like stars and he'll do the same for Jungle Boy.

I'm thrilled for this, my boyfriend got us tickets for that ep and booked a hotel for my Christmas present

I expect Luchasaurus and Marko will have his back, which sets up another Luchasaurus-Hager confrontation?

Jungle Boy finally speaking felt like such a big moment. Jericho pointing out he doesn't even have a win makes this feel all the more important

It being for the belt makes a time limit draw feel unlikely so I guess Jungle Boy is just gonna push Le Champion to the limit before losing.

Cannot stress enough how hyped I am for this. Think the two have a shot at a great match. Also feel Jungle Boy deserves this.

Reminds me a bit of Triple H defending the world title against TAKA Michinoku.

While I love Jungle Boy and am really interested in this match, it should've been harder for him to recieve a WORLD TITLE SHOT than interrupting Jericho's promo.
When Jericho said that Jungle Boy couldn't last 10 minutes with him I thought they were setting up a match between them next week where if Jungle Boy could last 10 minutes with Jericho without being beaten he'd receive the title shot the week after.
As it is, makes a bit of a joke of the ranking system.

So excited for this, though part of me is sad it's not Luchasaurus.
Still, I feel like their styles are going to mesh amazingly well.

Jericho’s been great with younger talent for years and years at this point but there is this feeling they could mesh really well. He’s the ultimate veteran heel and in many ways Jungle Boy is their ultimate young babyfsce. Definitely hard not to think back to Undertaker and Jeff Hardy.

The Anti-AEW trolls are shitting on this pretty hard since Jungle Boy has no wins to his name saying the "Wins and losses matter" is being ignored (when it's the total basis for Jericho accepting the match...).
I couldn't help but mention to a group of them on Facebook that clearly it would have made more sense to give the title shot to an immortal clown monster whose only previous match ended in an abduction/possible murder.

Yeah, I like this. Good excuse to have Jericho get one last defense in against an opponent he thinks is gonna be an easy W while also putting Jungle Boy in the biggest spot of his career.

It's a bit odd giving someone with a zero win record a title shot.

It's a bit odd giving someone with a zero win record a title shot. It makes sense from the standpoint he's taking Jack lightly and ducking Moxley.

Also, Jericho was given the power to choose his opponent, hence the lexicon of people he wouldn't select. So it makes sense for him to pick the person with the worst record.

Right, though he'd have probably had a way easier time with someone like Avalon. From a narrative perspective, I was surprised of the three, he went with Jungle Boy and not Marko. Though I'm pretty sure Jungle Boy is on Jericho's list (or lexicon) of guys he absolutely wants to work with.

I don't know if he specifically said it would be for the title so it may be a non-title match
