I enjoyed it. There were some great aspects and some lame ones but I mostly liked it. I also didn't hate TLJ so there's that.

Not sure how I feel about Abrams taking shots at both Lucas (This should begin to set things right) and Johnson (a Jedi’s weapon should be treated with more respect).
But both lines were kinda cute, so

Just got back from it. Enjoyed it, but I can understand the criticisms, like the twists not being very shocking. One of my favorite moments was when Rey gets cheered on by the spirits of the previous Jedi.

I enjoyed it . Very surprised they were able to get all those actors to cameo - Harrison returning was shocking to me , was pleasantly surprised. The only disappointment I had was lack of Anakin- Ben moment

The biggest cheer for me was for none other than frigging WEDGE ANTILLES! After all these years, he's still remembered.
I see people bitching about more exposition about Palpatine surviving. They want everything explained. Why does it need to be explained how he survived? He was the most powerful Sith, and likely had a plan for surviving Vader's betrayal. Why can't it just be that he has been controlling every aspect of this since the beginning? Why do you think you have these plot points and are given just enough to be hooked? It's for future films.
I loved it. I felt the Resistance coming in at the end akin to the Avengers Assembling in Endgame.
Yes, it was fan service, and what did you expect? An explanation of every single detail? I can even understand why people disliked it, and they are free to. I won't argue that they're wrong, because they are probably right to a degree, but the people who liked it, I would say are also right. Enjoy it or don't. Just don't insist that one side is wrong and one side is right. Like it or don't.
The things that we're explained, I loved. The things that weren't, I'm anxious to learn more about.
It was fun. If you didn't have fun at it, that's okay too.
Btw, people wondering what the Mandalorian Episode 7 has to do with being released before the film,
SPOILER FOR EP 7
it's to explain an important detail/force power, the force healing we see Baby Yoda use to heal Greef. Rey has this same power as the wisest, most powerful Force being in the galaxy (but I bet she can't fix a game of chance)
The only question I really want an answer to is how are future Jedi acknowledged? I know the Holocron has a detailed list of every and all potential Jedi, and this is something that needs further examining.

Still want to know Snoke's story, how Maz got the lightsaber, and more background on the Nights of Ren. And I could've done without Rey kissing Kylo. Other then that, it was okay and I'll give it a B grade. And Chewie finally got a medal. And my trailers: Black Widow Wonder Woman Doolittle Mulan Top Gun Onward Tenet Barb and Star Btw, people wondering what the Mandalorian Episode 7 has to do with being released before the film, Near as I can tell, was either Force healing or nothing at all. Nothing at all. Nothing at all.

If something isn't explained to the fullest or being said more subtly, people complain that it isn't explained. It's just so weird to me.

It's worth bearing in mind we're talking about a media franchise where literally every background character has an action figure and a back story about how they came to be wherever they appear. The guy who tries to sell death sticks to Obi-Wan? He got one.The guy smoking a hookah in the Cantina? You betcha.Even the "Look, sir, droids!" guy got a name and a story. It feels like to the majority of the people bitching about not enough exposition anything less than what any given character had for breakfast isn't enough information.

Star Wars isn’t my fandom. I’ve seen all the movies and I’m really enjoying the Mandalorian. The humans I always felt are the worse part and have always enjoyed the droids, yoda, jabba and my personal favorite Chewy.
I don’t understand how Marvel can have a cohesive story with a satisfying conclusion through 20 plus movies and tv shows. Yet Star Wars couldn’t figure out a trilogy. Did Kathleen Kennedy really not think over an all story arc and major plot points were needed before they let this trilogy be made?
The first one was fine if not a rehash of the first with to many unanswered questions, the second was a disjointed watching paint dry mess by a director who didn’t get the franchise. This was a major course correct and I enjoyed it. I read the spoilers months ago, and thought well that’s dumb but it’ll work. I told my son “they kill chewy, c3po, leia, ren, hux, and the emperor... don’t worrie half of those are fake outs or force ghosts” He didn’t believe me. I read a cracked article that knowing spoilers ahead of time makes you enjoy something more and I guess maybe that’s what happened here, but there’s enough pew pew pew to keep you entertained.
The movie never slowed down, the new characters didnt just feel like new action figures, it was nice to see all this core group of characters finally working together and not making dumb decisions. It finally felt like their movie.
This trilogy will now be called... The Killing the Original Three Trilogy The one they kill Han The one they kill Luke The one they kill Leia
This might change tomorrow morning...
1. Return of the Jedi 2. Rise of Skywalker 3. Revenge of the Sith 4. New Hope 5. Force Awakens 6. Empire Strikes Back 7. The Last Jedi 8. Phantom Menace 9. Attack of the Clones

I dug it. I was one and done with TLJ. I’ll definitely be watching The Rise Of Skywalker again. Thank you for bringing some respect back to certain things, J.J.

Did Kathleen Kennedy really not think over an all story arc and major plot points were needed before they let this trilogy be made? The mistake is making the 1:1 comparison between Marvel and LucasFilm. Kevin Feige is as much a part of the creative process as the writers and directors, and the buck ultimately stops with him when it comes to creative decisions, while Kathleen Kennedy is relatively hands-off and sticks mostly to the business side of things. Instead LucasFilm has a creative committee that works with each project's writers and directors to ensure everything lines up. They were involved in the sequel trilogy planning phase alongside J.J., Lawrence Kasdan, Jon Kasdan, Simon Kinberg, and Rian Johnson. The reason given for Colin Trevorrow's firing was that he wasn't present during this development phase, and wanted to bring in story elements that had already been discarded during this phase. I think the problem lay in J.J. being more concerned about his part of the trilogy with little consideration for how everything else played out.

Has anyone identified all the Jedi voices? The obvious ones I heard: Luke, Anakin, Yoda, Obi Wan (Ewan McGregor version), Mace Windu and I definitely heard Asoka Tano. There were other voices just couldn’t quite place .. Animated shows particularly Rebels Spoilers ( I know the shows are a couple years old but many people may just be discovering them on Disney+) {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}Might of heard Kanan Jarrus among them but not sure.
With Asoka being in there, I guess that means she Is definitely dead by the time TROS rolls around. The last time she was seen in canon was in the final episode of Rebels leaving Lothal with Sabine Wren to search for Ezra.

So how did she go from this To this? I guess she just gets turned on by murdering psychos like Padme. To be fair, she did admit in ROS that she wanted to take his hand and be with him, but she wanted to be with Ben Solo, not Kylo Ren. So she was always there. That got a MASSIVE reaction in my theater too. I mean like hooting, hollering, and cheering. One of the loudest pops from my crowd.

Kylo was the grandson of Anakin and in a deleted scene it was made clear that Palpatine was the reason Anakin's mother became pregnant. In the final cut it's just implied. 3PO was funny, I do agree. I'd say maybe the 2nd biggest reaction in my theater was Rey using the Force to stop the transport in mid-air.
