In one of the comics he tells Ben Solo that Luke Skywalker gave him the damage. Either it is a lie to make him sympathetic to Ben Solo, or the clones having the same damage was just not thought about by whoever's job continuity is. Also, Snoke has a stupid as shit hat that looks like bangs I loved expanded universe ish as a kid but this and the Rey/Poe novel/movie thing just makes it feel really silly to put a of stock into what the f*** is canon and isn’t. And I dug some of the new Star Wars comics that came out since Disney, too. Yeah, I don't generally care about canon discussions at all. It isn't compatible with the business reality of the entertainment industry. But a minimum I would expect is that there be some continuity when you have a common group of productions, like the sequel films and supplemental materials.

I'd figure this movie is still going to make a ton of money regardless of the critical consensus, really. Jabba: A Star Wars Story could consist of two hours of Jabba the Hutt heading to the latrines to do his business, take a crap (all sound effects), and then head back to his throne, and make a solid $450 million on the international market. As damaged as the Star Wars brand is currently, they can still make the money. It remains to be seen if this film will have them lose more money in the future on the IP, which is where the liability issues arise. Worst case scenario, Disney may start doing un-Disneylike things. I’d watch it if Jabba was played by Eddie Murphy

My current ranking:
Empire Strikes Back A New Hope Return of the Jedi Rogue One Revenge of the Sith The Force Awakens Rise of Skywalker . . . . . Solo The Last Jedi The Phantom Menace Attack of the Clones

Everything about Snoke was wrong. The only positive about the character is Andy Serkis putting in a legit fine performance.

I liked it. Liked it better than "The Last Jedi" and all 3 of the prequels. Not sure where I place it among the others yet however.
As I was leaving the theater I was trying to think of what my complaints were and realized that the only things I could think of were the fact that so much of the stuff in this film should have been introduced in the previous film to allow to to breath a bit. Let it progress more naturally as a story. HOWEVER I don't see that as being a flaw with this film so much as it is a flaw with the last one.
Take the Knights of Ren for example: Do they have the Force? Are they the other students of Luke's who joined Kylo? They had no names. No lines. Didn't do much of anything. Got killed easily. And . . that's fine by me. There was no time in this movie to really do much with them. BUT all these things should have already have been done in the previous film.

One of them is Trudgen. Trudgen. Trudgen.

Still want to know Snoke's story, how Maz got the lightsaber, and more background on the Nights of Ren. And I could've done without Rey kissing Kylo. Other then that, it was okay and I'll give it a B grade. And Chewie finally got a medal. And my trailers: Black Widow Wonder Woman Doolittle Mulan Top Gun Onward Tenet Barb and Star Btw, people wondering what the Mandalorian Episode 7 has to do with being released before the film, Near as I can tell, was either Force healing or nothing at all. Nothing at all. Nothing at all. Barb and Star looks like a bad SNL skit that’s going to run on way too long.

4 pages and not a mention of Zori Bliss? I assume she is a very minor character?

4 pages and not a mention of Zori Bliss? I assume she is a very minor character? There really isn't much to say. Lady in a helmet that knows Poe, apparently loves/hates him and decides to help. She did give me a hard laugh with Poe at the very end. Poe basically gave her the equivalent a "Shall we shag now?" look and she shut him down.

Is it solid that Snoke was a CLONE of Palpatine? Because that's not how I took it. Memory is fuzzy but he said he was Snoke or he made Snoke or something like that so isn't it possible that he manipulated life and created him? Like Anakin was created? And then he couldn't cloned the Snoke he created maybe. That's how I took it, but maybe I'm wrong.

Haven’t seen the flick, but pretty sure it’s left to be confusing. I’d bet a ham sammich it’s more the filmmakers trying to cover their asses rather than instill the imagination of viewers through ambiguity, but either/or.

I await the EU material to pull a Metal Gear Solid and reveal Snoke got all the recessive, inferior genes. (It hardly be any worse than Star Wars' usual use of science)

So basically Kylo Ren is Catra, Snoke is Hordak, and Palpatine is Horde Prime.

My biggest complaint... Where is Adrian Edmondson’s character? His character Captain Peavey did not get killed off in “The Last Jedi”.. was hoping for scene where he went on a full Vyvyan from The Young Ones like outburst Awe shame. Random Imperial Officer: Ooh, have we got a fleet of Star Destroyers? Peavey: YES WE'VE GOT A FLEET OF STAR DESTROYERS. 4 pages and not a mention of Zori Bliss? I assume she is a very minor character? There really isn't much to say. Lady in a helmet that knows Poe, apparently loves/hates him and decides to help. I think she was something of a cinematic parallel to Rick from Casablanca. Feels left behind by her former love interest who became part of the Resistance, and seemingly has no real love for either side at first. But seeing the injustice, and being given a new reason to hope that things might change, she does the right thing and joins the side of good, giving the heroes their ticket to get away even if it means she might not be able to. She and Poe may never get back together romantically, but well... It could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Also, it's a rather beautiful rejection of DJ from The Last Jedi, and all his nihilistic "Blah, both sides are bad, don't join." philosophy which never got challenged by the heroes for some reason. Even if you don't have any firm allegiance, you can see what's going on in the galaxy, which side are oppressing people and destroying planets, and stand up to it, and it can make a difference. A far better moral takeaway.

Yeah and one of the sides kidnaps and brainwashes children to use as soldiers, massacres villages for no reason at all, and blew up like 5 planets and killed presumably billions to trillions of people. f***.

For that matter Phasma is basically just shitty Shadow Weaver.

I liked it...hell, I've liked every Star Wars movie except for Solo...but it definitely had more of a "Let's wrap this up!" vibe then an epic finale. Random thoughts: -Dominic Monaghan needed a paycheck, I guess? Very random appearance there. -I thought Rose would have a bigger role after the hell her actress went through last time; I guess either she was like "Nah, I'm done with this" or JJ Abrams just wasn't a Rose fan. -Always great to see Billy Dee. He seemed to be the original cast member that was enjoying himself the most through these films. -In the "Ships exploding over worlds you know" shot, did we not get any prequel planets? Show some Gungans celebrating, you cowards! - Probably my biggest "Huh." was that they had not one, but two VERY similar beats to the final battle of Endgame: the static transmission/"Hey, we got a big army now too!" and "I am inevit...The Sith!"/"And I...am...Iron Jedi!". Heard a couple groans at the second one. It could be a coincidence. They filmed the movie last year and wrapped it in February of this year. There were reshoots around September/October, but I don't know if those specific scenes were part of it.

In my head canon, Vyvyan destroyed the New Republic.
