Hangman vs. Billy, guy who does cowboy shit vs. guy who used to do cowboy shit. When are we getting this match?

JB and Luchasaurus not coming out with Marko is annoying the f*** out of me. What's the point of them staying in the back just to run down to make the save when the inevitable beatdown happens? There's not even a crowd to pop.

There's not even a crowd to pop. On commentary it was said that he wanted to "prove himself without JB and Lucha." But I hear you. He has been doing a lot more solo stuff, and so is Jungle Boy. Maybe they want to see how they do separately?

Taz trying to train Darby Allin. I wonder what that's about?

There's not even a crowd to pop. Really I'd rather they just be separated entirely. I don't see what on earth Marko actually adds while his presence actively takes away from Jungle Boy's dynamic.

Pretty much everything about the Best Friends just drives me up a wall. Trent basically hasn't changed at all from his days as a jobber on ECW beyond that he at some point became absolutely awful at selling - he's basically completely personality-free with a boring look, a boring moveset, no mic skills - and yet somehow he's still the more dynamic and interesting of the pair to where I was ranting about them to a friend last night and it took me a minute to stop calling Chuck Caylen Croft because he has even less presence than Trent does.
Every part of the two hits the part of my brain that says, "These two are complete amateurs who absolutely should not be on national television," and their constant presence hanging onto him makes me vastly less interested in Orange Cassidy than I would be otherwise.

The setup for Spears/Dustin was absolutely brilliant. "I made a challenge, now people want to see it, now AEW has to book it whether they like me or not." After months of Spears doing nothing of note IMO he immediately made himself a star again with that in my eyes, he just proved he's a big enough deal to force AEW to get what he wants basically on a whim.

I think the Inner Circle is my favorite part of AEW.
Jericho is always top notch, Sammy has really been elevated in my eyes and is one of the best heels they have, I really dig Santana and Ortiz. I need to see more of Jake Hager, I liked him at the end of his WWE run, and he looks imposing enough.
Also since I'm started to watch more AEW, I can't wait to see more of Adam Page.
Oh, and also can't wait for PAC to be able to come back.

Taz trying to train Darby Allin. I wonder what that's about? Redemption storyline incoming. Darby will win the TNT title by December.

Tony Schiavone is the best commentator in wrestling right now, and I'm glad his wrestling legacy will likely be capped off by this AEW run, rather than his forced enthusiasm and hyperbole in late-era WCW. Find me the longest, most boring book on the planet, and I'll sit through Tony doing an audiobook version. I think if you're to consider announcers as a talent like the wrestlers, then Tony deserves as much praise as Dustin or Jericho as far as reinvention, improving with age, and remaining relevant. Tony's been back in MLW for a while and was doing well at that, but AEW is a new level - he's involved in storylines, Britt says half of the stuff they do together are his idea, he is able to be a bit of a fuddy-duddy without seeming off the pulse, he's able to be cool and lame at the same time... I am a WCW diehard from back in the day so I have always loved Tony, not least because he seems like a genuinely nice guy, but even as big fan of his I think his work has limitlessly improved since joining AEW. They should use the elevated ramp that connects to the ring more often. Cody's Head disagrees Are you kidding? Cody clearly planned that spot to do exactly that. If anything his head misses that ramp. Chris Jericho listening to Michael Bublé: "Ah, a little bit of the Bublé." This was worthy of its own thread you wasteful son of a bitch! Been singing theme songs to my cat this morning. WHAT HAVE I BECOME! NOW THAT I'VE BETRAYED! Cat: *Blank stare* IF I WASN'T PROUD THEN I WOULDN'T BE POWERFUL! Cat: *Blank stare* My dog reacted the same way. I think he's an old-school All Japan mark, though. He's so into the Giant Baba. My mind sometimes mistakes the part in the Being The Elite theme that goes “The Elite, The The Elite” as “Be Elite, Be Be Elite”. Until this post, I legit didn't know which one it was.

In fairness, maybe this is tinfoil hat conspiracy theory time for me, but Cody is a Rhodes and he loves to bleed for his big wrestling matches, and one of the first spots of the match was him diving headfirst onto a ramp that isn't usually there. I think that hardway gigging himself was exactly what Cody wanted from that spot and the ribs were the accidental injury.

There is no reason he wouldnt blade like all others times if that was the case.Saying he wanted the "head on ramp "spot is not fartfetched, just not as it went. Plus you can't calculate"im gonna hit head first and bleed". A bunch of things can happen that is not bleeding.

I still wouldn't put it past him, in mid air, aiming head first for the ramp to be thinking 'it'd be great if I got hardway from this.'

I agree with this on so many levels. I detest Chuck Taylor, but I can't put my finger on as to why. Like, Trent traded in Rocky Romero for THAT?! Yuck. They're totally holding Orange Cassidy back tho. Dude needs his own theme song at least that isn't the lame Best Friends theme.
