I love both almost equally. NXT is exactly what I want from a WWE show, and AEW is exactly what I want from a WCW/TNA in their prime type show.
I give the edge to AEW though, because without AEW airing live on Wednesday nights, we wouldn't have NXT airing these awesome live two hour shows in response.

In my opinion, the war is one way.
AEW started a show, that features professional wrestling, and with their TV contract had to be on Wednesday nights. They wanted Tuesdays, but because of NBA, they had to go on Wednesdays.
NXT is a part of a corporation obsessed with maintaining a monopoly in a certain industry, and is used a tool to hurt competitors. Be they in the UK, the US, or the proposed NXT Japan. Yes they have great indie wrestlers they were able to sign with money from Rupert Murdoch and Saudi Arabia, and able to pay nothing because of their monopolistic practices, so of course the matches are great. The wrestlers have to work harder, and prove themselves, to make the "main roster" money. So the best indie talent of the last decade, signing to small contracts, having to prove themselves, of course that's a formula for a good product. But it's the juice from poisoned fruit. And as far as the war, they only got their USA contract after AEW announced for Wednesdays. This was a deliberate step to injure a competitor.
So to me, it doesn't matter which one is "preferred". One is a wrestling company, and another, philosophically, is a tool of a corporation used to hurt competition.

Kinda biased, but I picked AEW. Since going to All Out and learning they're gonna have the TV show, I watch them. Kinda cool being a part of something new and sticking with it. And getting to attend a Dynamite show.
(Revolution is still up in the air as of this typing.)

You probably can't find a more anti WWE person anywhere on these boards than me so it really pains me to say what I'm about to say. I really enjoy AEW, I attended All In and Double or Nothing. I always feel like I have to say that before I say anything critical of AEW because so many people get up in arms if you give them any type of constructive criticism. With all that being said NXT is the perfect wrestling program for me. Great wrestling, minimal promos, the promos that they do have always mean something and are direct and to the point. BUT, I always watch Dynamite the night it airs or the next day because I want them to win the ratings War. I intentionally only watch NXT on the network. I hate the fact that WWE created this great show intentionally to hurt a potential competitor. Why don't they put that kind of effort into Raw or SmackDown instead of creating this great product just to be spiteful pricks?

I think NXT is the strongest brand of wrestling on TV, period.

Funny enough that is what I dislike about NXT( BESIDES being a tool to hurt AEW). The lack of interesting stories. But diversity is a good thing
