Melina would have made this list until finally returning last year for the first time since her release in 2011. Candace Michelle is never mentioned. Candice Michelle was on Raw Reunion last year. Even won the 24/7 title for a few minutes. Ahh. I stand corrected. Seems like there was a lot of women from the era that were ignored for whatever reason until this last year or so. Jillian, Candice, Melina, etc.

The John Stossel interview and the lawsuit that followed got Schultz largely blacklisted, in fact. Urban legend. First, Schultz wasn't fired over the Stossel interview and the lawsuit. He was fired for almost costing Vince the main event of Wrestlemania I, having tried picking a real fight with Mr. T backstage, causing T to almost pull out of the whole deal. Also, Vince didn't have the clout to get him blackballed anywhere except his own promotion, and a number of the rest of the promoters would have patted him on the back for doing what he did on the TV interview. Truth is, Schultz burned every bridge he saw in the business through his erratic behavior. Verne was already pissed at him over an attempt to shoot on Gagne in the locker room. His Memphis run shortly after leaving WWF lasted all of 4-5 matches before being sent on his way. Mid-80s David Schultz was a powderkeg waiting to go off, and most promoters knew it. David Schultz appeared at Starrcast 1. I was SHOCKED to see him there. For all the reasons you mentioned I didn't think any promoter would come near him with a ten-foot pole. I didn't see or hear anything negative about him though and he appeared all four days of the event so obviously nobody asked him to leave early because of behavior issues. Maybe he has mellowed with age?

More names to add to the list
Val Venis Tori (not Torrie Wilson) Dawn Marie Maven Test Umaga Snitsky King Kong Bundy Demolition (probably the only time they have been brought up on TV anytime since 1991 was a few years ago when New Day finally broke their record. A record that I don't think had ever been acknowledged on TV up to that point.) Sid (I know he showed up at Raw 1000 or something like that some years back but WWE seem to stay on good terms with their former WWE/F world champions. Sid is the only one I can think of that doesn't seem to get the same acknowledgement as the other past heavyweight champions. Does Sid even have a Legends deal?)

Two I can think of are Victoria and Ashley Massaro. I can't even remember them bringing up Ashley when she died.

This guy would have broken the glass ceiling if his name was "Barba Papa", in backstage segments he could melt his form to anything he wanted.

Probably because of this guy: I hear for whatever reason she doesn't want to be on TV, hence no HOF, etc. Enzo and Cass would qualify here now too, no?

Does anybody ever mention Paul London? I mean I heard a lot of times he bashed Triple H and WWE in shoot interviews. Can't say that I blame WWE for not wanting to acknowledge him. At least Brian Kendrick has been on TV at times after London's departure.

The lack of mentioning Layla is mind boggling and makes me want to kick a wall.

Granted its not like WWE pays attention to a lot of pre-Hogan figures outside Sammartino or Andre, but I always found it odd how little Pedro Morales was ever highlighted. First triple crown winner in the company, held the IC title longer than anyone, but he's not really brought up any more than any other babyface of the time period. In Pedro's case, it was probably a combination of him leaving suddenly for WCW as a Spanish language commentator in 1995 - just a few months after Randy Savage abruptly bolted (which is why Pedro wasn't present for his HOF induction), Pedro reportedly not wanting to have anything to do with the business post-WCW because he wasn't a fan of the changes in the business, and his deteriorating health over the last few years of his life which meant that there wasn't any chance for an on-camera reconciliation.

Captain Lou Albano. Until his death you never really saw them mentioning him as a legend, but he was one of the most important guys of the 80s boom, yet they pretty much glossed over him during their look backs at the 80s.

The current cruiserweight division Without having to Google it I legitimately do not know if 205 Live is still a weekly TV show.

The lack of mentioning Layla is mind boggling and makes me want to kick a wall. Same here. I had a massive thing for Layla her entire run. One of the few Diva Search contestants that became a really solid performer. She was there for 8 or 9 years so obviously the company really liked her. With their current policy of inducting one woman in the Hall of Fame per year I thought Layla would have been inducted by this point. Beth Phoenix and Torrie Wilson are already in so why not?

I'm sitting here watching this week's MLW. Savio Vega is wrestling and he made me think of this thread. I know Steve Austin speaks very highly of Savio and I think a few others from the era have as well. For whatever reason WWE itself completely ignores Savio. I don't think he's been invited back since his release over 20 years ago. Does anybody know a possible reason for this?
