So we have new tag champs! Woo! I realize it's not even been three months but it's really overdue.
Think it also works for putting an extra wrinkle on this whole Hangman storyline. Good stuff with him basically accidentally screwing up when Kenny could've won it, then doing the work himself to win, then getting pissed when he felt like everyone was focusing on Kenny instead of him.

It was worth going trough the SCU reign for this awesome moment and story progression.

Also, the post match interview added another wrinkle to proceedings.
Page is justified in feeling snubbed and under appreciated by Tony and the rest of The Elite and Tony, being an experienced interviewer, knew that Page didn’t have much to say except be a blowhard so moved the conversation along, thus he’s justified in his actions too.

You can`t help but wanna hug Page and at same time you know he is going at it in the wrong way.

SCU needed to drop the belts, they should have last year but this was a good time to do it. I'm very satisfied with this, Omega and Page looked great and this makes them the stars everyone was hoping they'd be, and now we'll see where this goes.
They've already teased the PNP Tag Match, might be their Revolution match.

The character work with him since All Out has been probably some of the best in all of wrestling, and I live in the country that produced the Devlin/Starr arc.

One of the best matches/moments since AEW started, without a doubt.

I like SCU, but it was definitely time to get the belt moving. Not expecting the title will on their waists for long, but Kenny and Page with the belts does bring me joy. Wonder if PNP beat them, Lucha Bros, Best Friends, Dark Order, or what. Might even be a face team, really.

Hangman had a great night overall, he deserved to win the tag titles along with Kenny.
I think we are getting Kenny/Hangman vs the Bucks at Revolution.

honestly great for all parties.
While the tournament did a good job of building Scorpio up, the SCU title reign had been a dud. Hate to say it cause he is talented, but Kaz needs Daniels to play off of, and the combo of Sky/Kaz just seemed to be losing momentum... doesn't help that so many other tag teams just have looked better.
I also love how Hangman wants to prove himself, and while it clearly does somewhat bug him that he has to share the spotlight with Omega he feels he is making a name for himself, while also feeling the Bucks are not letting him have his moment. While Kenny on the other hand has to try to balance now being a team with Page, the challenge of PAC, and maintaining his friendship with the Bucks.

Not to mention, Omega being an AEW tag champ before being World champ? That makes those belts even more prestigious.
But yes, some seriously good character/story progression there, I might have to dip onto the DVR in the next couple days and rewatch this match.

Have we ever seen a storyline quite like this? Sure, we have seen the cliche of "tag partners who hate each other" with Sabu/RVD in ECW or any Russo storyline ever, but this isn't really that. This is more two guys who are more or less on the same side, but there's a certain tension going on there. It hasn't boiled over, but you can see Page is not 100% down with Omega, Kenny is baffled at Page's behavior and drinking, and they sometimes screw up as a team in the ring. Yet....they are actually winning. It's like a team with zero chemistry that somehow wins a championship. It's the Bronx Zoo era Yankees or the 70s A's.
I'm thinking too that it will be Bucks vs. Hangman/Omega at the PPV. That might be where we get the Page freak out because I'm thinking they lose the belts fairly quickly.

Seth and Dean when they won the tag titles the first time and Dean really still didn't trust Seth all the way

Also would be a good choice. Big fan of Lucha Bros or PnP. Both would be a great choice.

The Dark Order, imo, seem like the other obvious choice of beating Hangman/Omega aside from the Bucks. It’s been established that TDO is targeting both guys, and what better way to accelerate a chance to recruit either one than to steal the tag belts they fought for and won?

I was fairly confident Omega/Page were winning tonight, but still glad to see it

I was fairly confident Omega/Page were winning tonight, but still glad to see it I was sure because years of the same booking had me sure that they would team up to further the dissent. Turns out that is not the only the way to book teams fighting between then!

I'm thinking too that it will be Bucks vs. Hangman/Omega at the PPV. That might be where we get the Page freak out because I'm thinking they lose the belts fairly quickly. One of the Bucks sidesteps Kenny causing him to nail Hangman with a V Trigger and Bucks immediately take advantage to pin Page. So many directions you could go out of that
