I'm not saying that AEW is perfect and can never be criticised; but I am saying that it seems like on places like Twitter, and even here at times, that people have been insanely quick to just rag on AEW and I honestly don't get why.
We, as wrestling fans, have wanted competition to Vince McMahon's monopoly on the graps for the longest time, we get it in the form of AEW, the best chance at creating real competition since the WCW days and we spend every moment picking it apart, every small mistake is just blown out of proportion and I just feel like people need to cut the people at AEW a break.
Yeah, they've made mistakes; but they're also a relatively new promotion in the grand scheme of things, are you honestly expecting flawless perfection out of the gate? Also, when a mistake does happen, everyone just jumps on it, like that poor f***er under the Dark Order creeper mask with those punches. He made a silly botch and people reacted like he just killed a puppy. I don't want to say that every bit of criticism with AEW is unfair or unfounded.
The Dark Order sucked before they got this whole cult thing and then they became awesome, The Nightmare Collective are pretty f***ing shit and I honestly don't get the appeal of The Librarians; but it seems like people are just insanely eager to criticise AEW and it gives off the impression that some are just wanting to see it fail.

I think when people point out AEW's flaws, it's mostly largely in constructive criticism form so they can improve upon it.

Yes and no
I think that there's definitely a lot of hyperfocus on shit going wrong when it comes to AEW (that Statlander vs. Riho situation in particular was just...wow, lol), but also there are a fair bit of things that need improvement and those things *should* be harped on.
IE, the audio mixing from hell that still persists every time I tune in.

Twitter was a mistake and should be ignored whenever possible.
On here I think the criticisms are largely fair and free of the hyperbole you'd see elsewhere.

Yes but it's usually..
1) Passionate fans who really want AEW to succeed so get more vocal when theres something they don't enjoy because of the promise to listen to fans.
2) Those fans that criticise modern wrestling and predicted AEW to fail but they keep succeeding and it really bothers them e.g. Cornette and his fanbase
3) Loyal WWE fans who see AEW as the "enemy" especially with WWE putting NXT up against them so will take any opportunity to trash them
Just my opinion on what I've noticed on twitter and reddit.

I wonder if Mark Henry and Randy Orton will comment on this...

I wonder if Mark Henry and Randy Orton will comment on this... Wrestlers botch, it happens. It's not the end of the world like some fans seem to think it is. Wrestlers make mistakes, fun fact.

I think some people are harsh, sure, but most aren't, and there's a lot of good will from wrestlers and fans that all of this is a work in progress. The potential is there, and it's already become something very special.

I cut a lot of slack on punches, given the Godfather is one of the most well regarded films ever made, and an important scene includes a punch which legendarily misses REALLY obviously, to the extent where parodies of the scene even include the missed punch as part of it sometimes.

I’m biased against WWE for a plethora of reasons, so I can’t judge anyone who’s biased against AEW for whatever reason(s).
The constructive criticism is good and even AEW has acknowledged it in its relatively short lifespan.

Not really
People react too harshly to criticism being made because they are willing to bypass it while on the other side, you have AEW listening and actually doing things to continue to make their product better
In saying that, I don’t feel like giving your honest thoughts on the product if you don’t like it is a bad thing. Cody and the Boys are listening which is the most important thing

As long as it doesn't devolve into childish bickering about which fed is better.
There are people out there that do want AEW to fail. Thankfully, they're largely relegated to youtube chat/comment secions.

Maybe, I don't know.
Honestly, I'm still not quite sure what AEW's carve-out of the business is quite going to be yet, or how I should feel about it.
I don't get to watch Dynamite very often (not in a place that has cable on Wednesdays, and soon won't be in a place that has cable at all), and I've only watched around 3 or 4 episodes of Dark so far (I have issues with attention span anymore).
And honestly, I feel like any criticisms I have so far that aren't related to their sound issues are at least somewhat unfair.

Most criticism I see has been fair and I get the sentiment that when you start a new company, you have less room for error. However, there has never been an AEW show I would consider "bad" by any means. We can focus on how it can improve for sure. However, I hope people can still recognize that AEW and NXT are producing the best weekly wrestling television shows in the past 20 years. I grew up with two decades of average to bad RAWs, Smackdowns, and Impacts that only gave me glimmers of hope every few years. Even with its flaws, AEW is still a really fun show every week that's very easy to watch. I just don't want that to get lost amid the criticism.

Of the 43 people to have rated the most recent episode of AEW, 31 have rated as a 10/10 perfect wrestling show or just below.
You will be waiting decades before you see a promotion garner the online acclaim the current run of Dynamite has had.
There were long periods of the Attitude Era where people complained more online than they have about AEW.

People obsessed with failing are too harsh. The kind who love Jim Cornette's critiques, hate Dave Meltzer for being a "homer", and took pleasure when NXT won the ratings for the week or whatever. Those people are actually wack.
People who point out every negative thing and think its the end, probably a bit too harsh. Before the 4 year TNT announcement, people thought it was going to be canceled after the bad Nightmare Family segment, or the Dark Order beating up the Elite segment. Meltzer called it a "tipping point." Its just a segment, let segments fail. I watch the show and enjoy 80% of it. That is 2005 ROH live show for me, but every week.
Its ok for segments to fail, and its cool that you see AEW respond to it. Britt Baker heel turn, Dark Order re-tooled, Nightmare family jobbing the week after and kind of disappearing. So they listen when its a lot of people reacting poorly. Which is all you want out of an entertainment outlet. That stuff is not too harsh.
But I do think the "AEW is going to fail" crowd had the wind taken out of their sails when TNT announced the extension, and I think the harshness has gotten quieter.
