I don't get it. At all. It's kind of a small horse, I mean what am I missing? Am I crazy?

I really have to question why they ever made him a heel. I'll never fully understand why they were obsessed with fighting upstream and keeping him a crazy heel at all costs. Guy just screamed babyface since he came back with this look. THIS is where a sit-down interview with Cole would do him wonders. Have him go into the above promo, his getting released from WWE and his mission to get back and get to the top of the mountain. More to the point, this is a great example that anyone can be redeemed and recovered from lackluster booking. They've done wonders for the guy with just 6 weeks of good booking

That subtle...subtle touch! He didn't turn his back to Brock even after Brock got eliminated. We were all expecting Brock to do the blindside job after he got eliminated, but it didn't happen. That was indeed a great touch, really enjoyed that. Made me interested in a match between them, which is the goal. I haven't really been watching the WWE in months and historically don't care much for Drew, but I enjoyed him last night. Hearing that he's been really good recently has me interested.

I'll say this - leaving the WWE has been the best thing for Drew. He found his way to the top in Impact and on the indies and is way more valuable than he would've been if he never left.

They've done wonders for the guy with just 6 weeks of good booking I’d also have him address his heel runs as “poor choices” he made due to being desperate to make it to the top, then saying that they didn’t work out because it meant going against what he was working towards.

So happy for the guy. If he wasn’t already he’s a star now.

I'm happy to see him getting his shot, I hope it works out.

The guy can do a good pandering babyface. In Impact, it got way over the top bleeding heart “this business” but there is a fine line and WWE seems to be walking it. Still a monster and a bad ass but he has a heart and he has a personality
As Corey Graves said “it’s about damn time”

I told y'all Drew was that dude. He was booked as WTF as possible from the start of his main roster run. I mean, most people are booked poorly, but with Drew they did everything the complete opposite of what it should've been. They neutered his offense and had him as a henchman for years when he's meant to be a babyface wrecker who does crazy athletic shit, like Keith Lee.

Marco, a friend of mine who works in PR for ICW, did this interview with Drew in 2015, which resurfaced this week, and which has a lot about his route into wrestling and his general ethic which I found interesting. Part 1Part 2Part 3Part 4I note the bit about not being able to show emotions as The Chosen One because they wanted icy composure, and compare that to 2020 Drew.
