Injured and trying to fix the spot: From PWInsider; AJ Styles suffered an arm injury during the Royal Rumble match, PWInsider.com has learned. Styles was hurt landing awkwardly on his left shoulder after taking a spear from Edge. Styles came up holding his left arm and it appeared his arm was dangling. He was then eliminated. Just before his elimination, a referee stepped up to the apron to communicate with Edge, who then eliminated Styles. Several officials and medical personnel immediately attended to Styles and we are told he was examined upon returning to the backstage area. Styles was seen backstage after the match with his arm all wrapped up and was icing it.. We are told Styles will be undergoing tests to determine the severity of the injury and how much time, if any, he will need to take off. More as we confirm it. Damn. Hope he recovers quickly.

I thought AJ botched catching himself on the apron, but the injury makes sense, too. Did Otis botch catching the two ladies? I kind of felt like he was supposed to put them both back in, and Sonya would betray and eliminate Mandy soon after, but he fell down instead. I like to think they had two endings for that. Because it’s such a risky spot, they were probably like “Well if you can catch them both, put them back in... if not, well no biggie cause they weren’t gonna win anyway.”

I knew something was up because Edge didn’t react much to having eliminated Styles (which should be a big moment) and Anderson looked at Styles on the outside, then at Edge, then went back to what he was doing. It just all looked wrong story-wise. He was gingerly holding his arm so I assumed injury. I thought AJ botched catching himself on the apron, but the injury makes sense, too. If Otis had caught them both I think he would have put them back into the ring and they would have been eliminated soon after. Same as the Morrison/Kofi/Naomi escape spot where they have nothing planned after their big moment just in case it goes wrong

If he didn't,well,it plays up on the fact that Otis helps Mandy but not Deville

Could see the refs talking to AJ while he was down so assumed something was up. Then he got up and didn’t use his left arm at all. Just hope it’s not serious and he doesn’t have to miss Mania.

Yea I saw off jump Aj got injured because he grabbed his shoulder as soon as he landed off the spear and did nothing after
He was most likely supposed to last like another 10 mins and then get hit with an RKO and thrown out by Edge

I wonder what the real plan was as I figure it was why Anderson and gallows were in there. I think they replaced heavy machinery and I would have preferred heavy machinery.

Fortunately, heel AJ is gold on the mic so he'll be able to carry any program he's in just with his mic work for a couple months if he needs to.

Styles is one of the last people they can afford to lose right now so yikes, I hope he's ok.
