I just wonder how much they actually CAN adjust with Vince still at the helm and too stubborn to see things any other way than his way. The man seems more willing to sink with his ship than plug the holes or even admit it's sinking And this man wants to run the XFL and WWE at the same time, AFTER these firings and the stock plummet... I don't even know what we're in for in the next few weeks... I'm going to make a bold prediction and say that Vince will step down within the next 3 years and it won't be a planned thing. It'll be due to his health (given he's already overworked and the XFL hasn't even started yet), it'll be due to the company continuing to decline so they have to do something drastic or it might be due to some crazy scandal that hasn't revealed itself. Right now things just aren't in a great position to keep Vince in his current spot with his current age, health and the same for the company. They'll get Vince out of there before the entire company falls. It won't be a sinking ship with only the captain left on the ship situation, they'll do something drastic before that happens. And in that case, the first thing they need to do next Thursday is officially say in SEO filings that there is a plan if something happens to Vince. At the very least, that’d cause less of a free fall in stocks if shareholders can see there is some kind of successor plan. The fact there isn’t right now and all this is kicking off, of course there’s going to be a worry.

We always hear about how backstage is at shows and ppvs but we rarely hear about how the inner workings of the corporate side. If they run things on their corporate side even similarly to how they run backstage? Then that's insane. I can't even fathom it. At the same time when we hear about Vince firing these 2 it really paints the picture that shit, maybe things are truly ran that way and we haven't been privy with it though out the years. Maybe they truly don't have a plan. Maybe they'll just do the "hey we've got a plan" "really Vince?" "uh, eh-y-yeah, we do" thing and try to handwave it.

A healthy WWE is healthy for the industry as a whole. That said, the best thing we can hope for as fans of the business is that this is a very overdue correction to the industry where WWE has to operate as a competitive business instead of a de facto monopoly.

Again, doesn't mean "WWE is DYING!" or something over the top like that, they make far too much revenue for that, but the current trajectory they're on must change or else there'll be very, very drastic changes that must be made in the not too distant future. Pretty much this.
And that's the main thing most of us who aren't filled with hate for the company have been saying for years. They've been on a downward trend and now they've reached a new level from the business side of things. They'll adapt or die out which is what was needed so we'll see how they respond to it. Vince firing those 2 is a bad sign so let's hope that they look at the battlefield and realize they have to adjust.
To put their current stock price in perspective. After their “precipitous” fall, they are at $48 per share. Between September 1999 and February 2018, the stock never broke $40 and spent many years under $20.

Just based off history, and where the problems with the company actually lie, I'm guessing this is less a, "We're letting you go because we want to try a new direction," and more, "We're letting you go because you're trying to say what we're already doing isn't brilliant and going to turn it around any day now."
Kind of wonder if Alvarez's prediction that the Network domestic subs have dropped below a million will come to pass.

I don’t know, that sounds like something that would happen on the creative side of the business. They’re usually pretty good on the business end.

I’ve heard that the locker room will be glad to be rid of Revival, they’re dragging morale down. Yes. Once Revival goes, it will suddenly lift the low morale. That's some good s$&t! Weird, because most wrestlers who leave and news sources feel Vince McMahons constant changed booking, part timers huge pushes, being used as political tools for Saudi Arabia, having no control over promos, and fired executives and writers on a whim might have something to do with it. But no, it's the Revival. So those multiple articles I saw where guys in the locker room were tired of guys like Revival complaining all the time and dragging down morale didn’t exist?

That's an issue I've mulled over a lot, obviously without much of a clear way to answer: at what point is a healthy WWE good for the entire industry, and at what point does its size and/or practices become an active detriment? As for the Revival, I've never seen anything about the locker room grumbling about them, so, uh, </Toru Yano shrug>

Based on glass door reviews I've read the wwe seems pretty hectic even at the corporate headquarters. It all seems to start from the top.

If The Revival are being such a problem as claimed (and I’d also like to see these articles because I’ve seen nothing myself) then...accept their release. Let them go. You’ve demonstrated you’re willing to let guys go who clearly don’t want to be there so it would be better for those who ARE there and THEY might be the ones to accept whatever they were offered.
Like, I haven’t run a business but I don’t think this is a hard problem to solve.

Look that thing up and weep.

Yeah, these "guys asking for their releases and being miserable when not granted their releases" isn't exactly something that happens in a vacuum. If morale is low, it's because it's a horrible work environment. People being miserable because of that is a symptom of the problem, not the problem itself.

I honestly think that low Q4 numbers had a number of factors involved, and most of them are drops in Network subscriptions. We saw 3 major thing happen in that time that may have factored into people dropping
1) another Saudi Arabia show. A lot of people unsub when these happen as to not support doing business with KSA
2) AEW Dynamite debuts. With another major televised wrestling program to watch, some people (myself included) felt that it was no longer necessary to subject themselves to bad creative and thus intrest in the PPVs that those shows build toward also died.
3) Disney+ launches. The streaming wars are really ramping up right now and people are starting to feel like they're subbed to too many. Perhaps some felt that the newest major player was something that they felt they needed and some of their existing subscriptions had to be taken as casualties to afford it.
None of this has anything to do with Barrios or Wilson. The only people I can blame are Vince McMahon, Tony Kahn, and Bob Iger.
