Finally, for I feel the first time since it's inception, we are seeing THE Kenny Omega in AEW.
In the space of 4 days he's had 2 incredible matches in AEW, his 2 best in AEW to date in my opinion.
Not only great from an in ring perspective but the storytelling and weaving of storylines and psychology that Omega was famous for in New Japan is finally on display.
I hope he goes from here. For the first time in over a year he legitimately feels like the best wrestler in the world again. So great to see.

Especially with the entrance last night, as far as the western world is concerned, The best bout machine is absolutely top tier.

I said it last week or thereabouts, but AEW needs to get the World Title on Kenny for one big, extended reign, and let him be the "final boss" champion for awhile. Everything from his in-ring work to his storytelling ability to his sheer presence during his entrance makes him perfectly suited for the role.
Kenny thrived in New Japan as the ultimate obstacle in someone else's story; getting him to the AEW title can allow him the chance to be the main protagonist of his own story, and then keeping the belt on him for awhile, Okada-style, puts him back in the "obstacle" role for someone to rise up and eventually dethrone him. He could do amazing things to elevate the belt's prestige.

I second the notion that he should have an extended title reign. Preferably as The Cleaner, with Hangman being the one to ultimately dethrone him as the culmination of the current story arc. That would be awesome.

I think we need to have a long Moxley reign right now but after that I'd be ok with Omega as world champion. He can go on a tear to continue to rebuild himself and then win the belt from him at next year's Revolution and it would work.

Omega will get the belt, it's a matter of when
I think it just shows he can do whatever he wants and make it amazing though, deathmatches, tag matches, singles matches, he's one of the best to do this.

Omega will eventually take the belt from Mox and Hangman will take it from Omega. Just beautiful 360 degree storytelling.

Mox has the belt through the summer. Omega wins it from him at the fall PPV or Full gear. Page gets it at the 2021 Double of Nothing.

I think the issue with Moxley vs Omega was:
It was a dream match for the sake of a dream match, and that is not what Omega does best,it was an amazing match but Omega shines the most when he tell a deeper story.

Omega did say Moxley couldn’t chain wrestle him. They are defo gonna have a rematch. Maybe at All Out.

It's good that Kenny is trying all these different things in order to learn, but eventually he does need to become The Guy of the company(even if it's for a short time). Kenny has a larger than life presence, and needs to be their Hogan/Cena. Itd be a waste not to use him like that.

Possibly the most apt comparison. Both men led the wwe into greatness but from different areas. One as a bad ass and the other as charismatic guy. For Aew, one is a bad ass and the other an amazing athlete who tells stories in the ring. If Kenny is the one to take the belt from Mox, I hope they run with the angle that while Kenny can't out hardcore Mox, Mox can't out perform Kenny. They each have fought in the other's domain.

He's been there the whole time In the literal sense, yes of course he has. But I've never felt like the Kenny of New Japan and the Kenny of AEW were the same person until this week. They tried this 'crisis of confidence' thing with him during the first few months of the promotion, and it didn't really work. Of all the big names, Kenny seemed to be the one who's star was waning and not rising like others. I just feel like something's clicked since his team up with Page, and this last week I just think he carried himself in his matches like 'hey, I AM the best wrestler in the world, and I know it. I'm a big f***ing deal'. I hadn't seen that in AEW yet.

It's going to be great, when the the prophecy of All Out II takes place - where Kenny Omega will defeat Jon Moxley in their re-match and win the AEW championship. They can play up with the idea first couple months that they can't book the match as it's way too violent and threatening for the image of company as official world title match, or something like that.

I don't think it's a coincidence that since Tony Khan reportedly took a more hands on approach with creative that the Elite guys have gotten a lot more success on Dynamite; early on it really seemed like Kenny and the Bucks, in particular, wanted to focus on getting new and lesser known people over, which is noble, but I'm guessing they had a conversation where someone like Khan said something like "But think how much more it'll put those guys over when they beat you after you've been established on national TV as some of the best wrestlers on the planet; the mainstream doesn't totally know you, yet." It'd be one thing if they were doing 2003-2005 era Triple H matches, or doing Jarrett's schtick when TNA first opened, but while they're in positions of authority in the company they're still very much beloved as in-ring performers, so it makes sense not to be afraid of using them to their full potential.
