I'm honestly starting to get the feeling that AEW has worked out a deal with Marty and ROH. I know they have publicly stated he's not joining the company but some of these hints they've been dropping really have me wondering. Exhibit A. Hangman Page does Marty's set up dance and cross face chicken wing at Revolution. (Something he's never done before.) Exhibit B. The Young Bucks name dropped ROH in their sit down interview with Jim Ross last week on Dynamite. (Outside of Excalibur momentarily mentioning PWG on a very episode of Dynamite, or Dark, no other competing modern wrestling companies have ever been mentioned on an AEW broadcast.) Exhibit C. What's part of Marty's gimmick? Flapping his arms like a damn bird. So you tell me what sits in a dead tree? (Also consider that ROH is a dead company with Marty sitting pretty on top of it.) Ladies, and gentlemen, of the jury, I think we've been worked. If everyone already knew that Marty was going to eventually show up in AEW due to his connection to The Elite, how do you make it into a big deal? Tell everyone it isn't happening, tease a bunch of other possibilities, and then...shock the hell out of the wrestling industry when Marty shows up on Dynamite. I think this is literally the best idea for the gimmick. You don't have him full time, so you can have Dark Order things happen and Scurll is sort of there. The issue is, he has gotten Villain Inc over, does he want to be head of another faction? Does Dark Order become a thing in ROH? How interesting would that be. From being a universally disliked team to being a huge angle in two promotions. I look at it this way, has Villian Inc. showed up in NWA yet? No, just Marty. So does Villian Inc. need to show up in AEW, if Marty does? No, but I'll admit, it would be so much fun.

There's also Daniels' assertion that he thinks there's no Exalted One, that it's just Evil Uno and Grayson conning the members, which would be somewhat interesting, sure, but I don't think it's the case, especially with the vignette where Uno was in the Exalted One's office and talking to him. Uno and Grayson also have been portrayed as becoming the Dark Order because of a corrupting influence, not just their own volition.

Whoever came up with that "sitting in a dead tree" tease deserves a raise. It's cryptic-but-obvious enough that it fits Hardy, Marty, Brodie, Raven, and probably others I'm not thinking of, without needing to take any leaps of logic.
I can't help but wonder if it's going to be someone completely different from all the teases so far, though I'm still personally hoping for Brodie or Matt. Feels like it's going to be fun no matter what, though.

It'd be an interesting idea, especially as cults like this have a history of being giant scams. But then, I think there's been too much setup where there has to be an Exalted One. Plus having someone above Stu and Uno means they're seen as equals in the pecking order, which is good for when they're wrestling as a tag-team.

I think Uno is still in charge, since he freely gets behind Grayson when people come for them, and seems to give him commands, but Grayson's also really intense and probably plenty ready to fight, anyhow. Uno also is the one who sits in the throne of Creepers. I figure it's probably sort of like how Luke Harper was the "first son" to Wyatt, and therefore never had to wear the sheep masks, same as how Grayson doesn't have to wear a creeper mask, he's a lieutenant.

Yeah, I just watched Powerrr last night and saw that Brodie was advertised for the upcoming shows. So the line you quoted of mine above has been negated. Marty's still, most likely, the Exalted One. On that I stand firm.

OK, that's not even subtle at this point.

For context, Luke Harper's twitter for the longest time was just the same post every day: "It's (day of the week). You know what that means."

OK, that's not even subtle at this point. The hidden line in this one is "NO ONE IS SAFE"
