That was perfect. A much needed hilarious, wholesome tv show when we needed it most. I loved all the guest stars. Marked hard for Jean Ralphio, Joan and OF COURSE Perd. And Dennis would be shilling an untested miracle cure lol.
I was wondering how they’d incorporate Tammy since her and Offerman are IRL married and I was not disappointed.
Also I will never ever get tired of 500 Candles in the Wind

This was exactly the kind of thing that we needed. Was it perfect? Of course not. But it hit the mark where it needed it the most. I was smiling the entire damn time. And that's all that matters.

Can I just say that Jerry/Gerry/Garry is one of the greatest supporting characters ever written.

It was better than I expected, in that I expected it to be absolutely terrible because my memories of Parks and Recreation are still clouded by the god-awful final two seasons. It was generally charming and warm and showed that not just the characters but the people behind these characters seem to genuinely love one another. The show elicited a few laughs out of me (Bobby Newport's ignorance of what's happening in the world, Chris asking Andy if he's just donating blood to random people, Jean-Ralphio getting kicked off of Cameo for filming videos in the nude, Dennis Feinstein's general existence and continued awfulness) and was a reminder that despite how terrible it ended, at its apex, "Parks and Recreation" might have been the best comedy on television ever. Better than "Seinfeld," better than "The Office," better than "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." From seasons 2 through 4, that show was just cranking it out of the park week after week after week. I get what they were trying to do, and I admit that S7 was the weaker of the seasons (aside from the first season which feels like an entirely different show) but I never truly understood the hatred some folks have for it. I thought the last few episodes, the finale especially, were pretty well done. It sure as hell could have been worse (I'm looking at YOU last season of Roseanne, How I Met Your Mother....etc. ) As for the last part, you're spot on. I'd put Seasons 2-5 up against any sitcom at their peak. Now as for last night, my expectations weren't sky high given that the show wrapped everyone's stories up nicely, the current circumstances and the mere fact that reunions are more often than not a huge letdown. That said, it was as well done as you could probably ask for. The cast seemed to be enjoying it and seemed like none of them missed a beat. Ben's complete annoyance/disinterest in the 5,000 Candles in the Wind sing-a-long had me rolling. For a half hour, I got sucked into the world of Pawnee and enjoyed myself.

I liked how Joan's difficulty dealing with social distancing timely figured into her going insane in the final season!

I believe it's only for US at the moment, but if you haven't watched it yet.

I laughed, I smiled, and by the end shed a few tears. Great special!

I enjoyed the special last night. Even if it was just for one night, it was nice seeing a new "episode" of my favorite show.
My favorite parts were Jeremy Jamm and Jean-Ralphio's spots.

Ya know, thinking about it last night, Parks and Rec generally did a great job of not overdoing it with characters like Jean Ralphio/Mona Lisa etc..

Yeah, they knew characters like that are best in small doses... except when it came to Craig, who's the only character I actually hate.

Ratings are in. 3.6 million viewers, and better numbers than anything NBC has aired on Thursday this TV season.
Also, they have raised almost $3 million dollars for charity.
Yeah, safe to say this was a complete success.
