On NXT this week - discussion rules on the WWE section of the FAN board:
*D-Generation X (Shawn Michaels and Triple H) will be making a MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT - two days after Becky Lynch's MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT. What will this one be?
*Stallion Matt and Stallion Timo will put up Riddle and Pete Dunne's NXT Tag Team Titles against Imperium - Fabian Aichner and a man Thatcher knows all too well, Marcel Barthel.
*Finn Balor is still trying to work out who attacked him a few weeks ago, will he come any closer when he takes on Cameron Grimes?
*Rhea Ripley speaks for the first time since returning last week to seek revenge on NXT Women's Champion Charlotte Flair... and ending up making an additional enemy in Io Shirai.
All this and more tonight from 8/7c on USA in the States and BT Sport in the UK and Ireland!

On NXT this week - discussion rules on the WWE section of the FAN board: *Rhea Ripley speaks for the first time since returning last week to seek revenge on NXT Women's Champion Charlotte Flair... and ending up making an additional enemy in Io Shirai. All this and more tonight from 8/7c on USA in the States and BT Sport in the UK and Ireland! Yikes at Rhea getting a microphone tonight. Every time she cuts a promo she just makes herself look worse and worse for someone who is supposed to be the "top women's babyface of nxt". I don't see tonight being any different. |

Uh oh. I like both women so I'd be fine with either winning (or a triple threat), but Io's like the most popular woman here not named Asuka. If she faces Rhea and loses, I'm going to be like Orton when he killed that one Singh brother. |

If this is meant to humanize Rhea, it didn't work. Rhea came across as way more unlikable especially at the end. She's going to be in for a very rude awakening if she's expecting audiences to pick her over Io when they eventually return. |

I f***ING DARE YOU TO GO THROUGH WITH THIS WWE...I DARE YOU Because wrestling fans have seen this over and over and over , you forcing your pet project down peoples f***ing throat and it gets rejected every f***ing time and it doesn't help that Rhea started off her NXT run by immediately skippity hopping every f***ing woman to end Shaynas reign and now getting compared to Charlotte at every turn....because that is the smart thing to do right build her up in the exact same manor you built the one woman no one actually wants around because I guess once aint enough. And now you are gonna have her skippity f***ing hop your most over woman...the one woman everyone wants and knows deserves that title because of f***ing course you would WWE. But again WWE go right the f*** ahead because if what I posted about very late lastnight is indeed on the eventual horizon of happening..I will be f***ing over the roof to have Hitokiri and Doku back after you have completely misused them both. |

Ignoring all the non-kayfabe reasons to dislike her (and there are several), her character right now is really bad and for someone who is supposed to be the top babyface of NXT, is coming across as a massive idiot who hasn't learned anything from Wrestlemania. They are basically making her into Charlotte 2.0 right now. She's dangerously close to falling into that same trap that Charlotte did early on in her MR career in being pushed over much more popular women, and the audience turning on Rhea/Charlotte as a result. It already happened once with Rhea over Bianca, and it'll be much worse if they do it with Io. |

You know, they COULD be turning Ripley back heel with this. It鈥檚 only been one appearance on TV and some scattered internet stuff.
I mean, f***, this is a regular WWE playbook move now, I鈥檝e seen it enough times. Nothing gets you rallying behind a person more than the idea that THEY ARE LEGITIMATELY FIGHTING FOR THEIR CAREERS EVERY TIME THEY WRESTLE, AND THEY MUST WIN OR ELSE THEY鈥橰E BEING BURIED, I MUST NOT LET THE MACHINE鈥橲 CHOSEN ONES WIN AGAIN.

That's cap Bianca was the one everyone was calling a chocker and while popular, she was still behind Rhea and Io. Io is the undisputed most popular woman in NXT but injuries slowed her down since War Games. As soon as Rhea became champ the mood inexplicably changed The clear plan was always Io and Rhea as the top two women of the brand to fight for the title before they threw Charlotte in the mix for no reason |

Bianca was never more popular then Rhea Yeah, Bianca was definitely more over than Rhea even post Shayna. Hell, the very first promo Rhea cut after she won the title, the audience massively preferred Io and Bianca over Rhea. The best way to describe it is that Rhea rode an anti-Shayna wave to the top, because everyone was sick of seeing her (Shayna) as champion, but then completely came back down to earth after that, because her character work is god awful and inconsistent. It doesn't help that in a non-kayfabe sense, Rhea comes across as super unprofessional on social media, and has given some really questionable answers in interviews as well. |

I've already said I think this is playing out same way they did last year with Becky Io is in the Becky spot now and being tweener/face while Rhea probably turns heel and Charlotte is there to just be there (in this instance she really is) |
