WWE champions are like, "Should I let them wear each other down or do I run in and attack both, then get put in a triple threat match? I know, I'll take the triple threat!"

Charlotte hit Io first, so Io is now the #1 contender.

I’ll prop Charlotte a bit right there. She has a tendency to his some pretty laughably sad Spears, but that one was good.

Really should've just had Charlotte's run-in lead directly to the beatdown instead of the, "Just kidding! But nah, I was serious."

Never underestimate the power of the idiot ball that is the champion attacking both their potential challengers during a top contender match under the impression that doing that would mean that there won’t be a title match as a result. What did I tell you? Common sense every day.

Not Charlotte's fault and a good fake out of the normal #1 contender interference imo I mean she didn't have to be out there. She should've known she was going to risk getting hit by being so close to them.

She’s definitely losing the belt without getting pinned. lol Yep And it is very likely that was an edict directly from Vince...oh she can drop the title but be damned if she is the one getting pinned.

But Io is so f***ing amazing no surprise being the best womens wrestler in the world....she was again only allowed to hit her full gear in that small sequence where she got the tiger faint , spring board drop kick and suicide dive but f*** what a reminder of just how insane she can be when she is allowed.
But her and Rhea have surprisingly really good chemistry but it also helps that Rhea actually sells for longer than a second unlike other tall blondes.

I'm not surprised they have good chemistry, Io's great and the only bad match I've seen Rhea have in the last year or so was with Toni.

I’m pushing back on this as the ‘Charlotte doesn’t sell’ thing is overstated. You saw how hard she was selling for Io in their recent match. Even in her brief match on Raw this week she was selling her hand well and integrating it into the storyline, and she sold Rhea’s Riptide like death at Mania, getting a near fall two minutes in and still rolling out of the ring afterwards.

Like, annoying as it is, all of this is part of WWE trying to get REAL REACTIONS from us. It's been their main play for years. They don't want this "Oh, this person is such a great heel", observing from afar stuff. They want you to HATE THAT C***, even if it means you actually wanting them fired or something because you're just so sick of them.

Another excellent NXT besides the 3 squash matches. Liam Gray VS Karrion Kross was the worst NXT opener in the history of NXT, but the promo afterward setting up Tommaso Ciampa VS Karrion Kross was good and I’m looking forward to seeing Kross make his Takeover debut. Akira Tozawa VS El Hijo Del Fantasma was an excellent match. Timothy Thatcher’s interview was good. I’ll take him VS Riddle in a Submission Match. I loved Shotzi Blackheart’s promo. It was different. Mia Yim VS Santana Garrett was too short, but I do like the idea of Yim & Keith Lee VS Candice LeRae & Johnny Gargano, since we have never had a Mixed Tag Team Match in NXT before. Cameron Grimes’ promo was good. Drake Maverick’s promo was excellent. I really hope he gets his job back after this. Dexter Lumis VS Roderick Strong was an excellent match, & possibly Lumis’ best match in his career so far. I like the post-match angle with The Velveteen Dream & The Undisputed ERA. Interesting attack by the mystery lucha guys on Akira Tozawa with El Hijo Del Fantasma watching. Burch & Lorcan VS Ever-Rise was too short for anything. I liked Keith Lee’s promo. I liked Matt Riddle’s promo. I would love for them to do a Lion’s Den Match between him & Thatcher. Kushida VS Drake Maverick was an excellent match & the Triple Threat with Jake Atlas should be awesome next week. I am shocked that they aren’t saving Riddle VS Thatcher in a Cage Fight for Takeover and are doing it next week instead. Damien Priest’s promo was good and I’m looking forward to him VS Finn Balor at Takeover. Rhea Ripley VS Io Shirai was an awesome match & the best match of the night. I didn’t like the finish, though it did make sense to set up Takeover. I can’t wait for NXT Takeover: In Your House.
Here are the Facts & Stats for NXT: - Liam Gray VS Karrion Kross was Kross’ 1st NXT match since May 6 & his 1st opener of 2020 & was Gray’s NXT debut - Akira Tozawa VS El Hijo Del Fantasma was Tozawa’s 1st NXT since May 6 & was Fantasma’s 1st NXT since April 29 - Mia Yim VS Santana Garrett was Yim’s 1st NXT since April 29 & was Garrett’s 1st NXT since February 12 - Dexter Lumis VS Roderick Strong was Lumis’ 1st NXT since April 29 & was Strong’s 1st NXT since April 22 & his 1st singles Match since he lost to Matt Riddle on March 25 - Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan VS Ever-Rise was Matt Martel & Chase Parker’s 1st NXT since April 8, Burch & Lorcan’s 1st NXT since March 25, Lorcan’s 1st match overall since he lost to Aleister Black on Raw on April 13, was Burch’s 1st match overall since he lost to Tony Nese on Raw on April 10, & was the 2nd match between them, as Burch & Lorcan defeated Ever-Rise on NXT on September 25, 2019 - Kushida VS Drake Maverick was Kushida’s 1st NXT since May 6 & was Maverick’s 1st NXT since April 29, & was Kushida’s 1st loss since he lost to Adam Cole on NXT on February 12 - Rhea Ripley VS Io Shirai was Shirai’s 1st NXT since May 6 & her 1st main event since January 15, Ripley’s 1st NXT match since January 8, her 1st NXT main event of 2020, & her 1st match overall since she lost to Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania on April 5, & was the 2nd time they wrestled each other as they Shirai defeated Ripley in the Mae Young Classic on October 24, 2018, was the 6th week in a row NXT had 2 Women’s Matches, & was the 26th Disqualification of 2020, the 3rd one this week after 2 on Raw, & the 1st on NXT since May 6
