Glad it’s not his neck but it still sucks. Hopefully it’s just a nasty gash or something comparability minor.

Is it wrong that I'm glad that at least it's not his neck? Still, f***. Definitely not wrong to be glad it's less serious. Of the two options, "not his neck" is better for sure.

This "THE GREATEST WRESTLING MATCH EVER" shit was snakebit from the very beginning. He finally returns, gets stuck in a neverending feud with Orton that should have ended after the terrible Mania Match, and now instead of the potential dream matches we could have had, for the sake of THIS match, Edge is probably out for months.
Lovely, remind me why they had Edge wrestle after Mania in empty arena shows? I get having him go for Mania but this shit was FILLER CENTRAL, what a f***ing waste and the risk was not worth it. Glad it wasn't his neck or it'd be even worse.

I didn't open this thread until after the match finished, but you can see a massive bruise under Edge's right arm.

After watching the match, there isn't a noticeable spot to say he got injured so whenever he did get injured he had a long match and never favored it

Glad it wasn't his neck or it'd be even worse. Edge wanted to work with someone he's comfortable with, that's why he worked with Orton. They pulled this match forward from SummerSlam, and I suspect this robs of us like...one PPV that Edge was going to work, at most. Even at the maximum, he's back by Rumble. I think we'll still get the other matches he wants to do. This might even accelerate his desire to get those new matches. I think it's forgotten that even before/during the neck stuff, Edge was always kind of injury prone. I just hope this doesn't deter him from getting back in there.

Any word on if it’s a complete tear or a partial tear?

Meltzer said on Observer Radio that the injury happened during one of the reshoots after the first run of the match. He wasn't sure about which spot it was.

Since the pandemic is far from over and the arenas won't be filled with fans anytime soon, I don't think it's a bad thing that he got injured right now.

WWE announced the following:
WWE Digital has confirmed that Edge suffered a torn triceps as a result of injuries sustained during The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever. Edge has undergone successful surgery and is currently rehabbing at home.
The Rated-R Superstar faced Randy Orton in a grueling test of in-ring skills at WWE Backlash. Both competitors were pushed to the brink, but The Viper prevailed over his former friend in the highly intense match.
Stay tuned to WWE digital and social platforms for more information as the story develops.

Was there any reason the company decided to put him in 45 minute matches right out of the gate, especially in empty arenas? Seems pretty irresponsible. I'm sure Edge was fine with it, or maybe he wanted to do it, but save your damn bullets man.

Dude should be used sparingly anyways. Take your time, heal up, finish up the feud later on when maybe a crowd can be there to appreciate it.

It's almost as if returning to being a professional athlete after a decade off is a bad idea.
