Honestly, it’s a much better thing that Disney doesn’t have all the Marvel rights rather than having all of them, regardless of what people think about the quality of the films. I disagree. They own the company that created the character. They make better movies. I want better movies. Sony has by and large proven over and over that they cannot provide that when it comes to Spider-Man. If they wanted me on their side, they would make the movies better. I get it, I understand that, I really, really do... But Disney owns a lot of shit already. Like, so much shit. The reason they haven't brought EA yet and got it done with is that Video games are the only thing Disney seem to not know what to do with. I'd honestly rather have it the way it is because it doesn't give Disney full control on yet another media property. Also, Disney suddenly owning Spider-Man does not mean they'll suddenly own the team behind Enter The Spider-Verse because Sony ain't going to let that happen. Unless they buy Sony which, to put it simply as humanly possible, F*** no, that shouldn't happen.

I refuse to accept Aunt May: International Spy: The Movie: The Musical: On Ice because 'at least Disney doesn't have full control over all of the characters'... If they had proved they weren't inept in the first place, I would be all for them continuing. The bridge is burned. Poor quality is inexcusable.

I don't care either way, really. It's just better in the wider scope of things if they don't. Or until copyright law gets better since Spider-Man would have been public domain if the law was how it was.

Into The Spider-Verse succeeded because the inept stayed out of the way. Sony doesn't get credit for falling ass backwards into a good movie when they've been throwing darts at a board for their movie ideas.

Marvel has to get their shit back from these guys. They can scoop up the team that did Enter the Spider-Verse since they made that a success under the radar of the executives. Honestly, it’s a much better thing that Disney doesn’t have all the Marvel rights rather than having all of them, regardless of what people think about the quality of the films. I kind of agree. Marvel Studios can only concentrate on so many characters, I'm thinking maybe they should delegate some of them. Suppose Sony actually could make a decent movie, have them handle the Spidey branch, and have Fox, or what's left of it, keep doing the X-Men. They could still be in the MCU, just that some parts of it are more connected than others, like the deal with the TV shows.

Didn't Gwen actually refer to herself as "Spider-Woman" in Into the Spider-Verse?

I mean, there are minor ways Disney licence out stuff like loaning the Lucasarts adventure games to Double Fine to give them a remake. And even internally, Big Hero 6 is technically Marvel but Disney Animation did the movie and the cartoon based off of it. It isn't unprecedented. Give Pixar the Power Pack or even Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. Something to run with and make their own.

Spider-Woman falling under the Sony properties is dumb. They likely own the name Spider-woman. but most of the actual characters (Save gwen) would likely be Marvel... it's one of those weird things. The whole Spider-Woman thing is incredibly confusing. I mean, if we're talking about OG classic Spider-Woman, Jessica Drew, she's was seemingly tailor made to exist independent of the Spider-Man IP. Different costume, different powers, no overlapping rogues. It's weird that Spider-Woman would be the character caught up like this, meanwhile Marvel seemingly had no problems with using Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, who were straight up mutants, and Magneto's children at that. Now, that's pretty much only Jessica Drew. Sony could be using Julia Carpenter or even Spider-Gwen, for all I know.

In related news, the newest tropical storm to form in the Atlantic is named.......Thirteen. Same as Olivia Wilde's character on HOUSE. She's having quite the week. It upgraded to a tropical storm so its name changed to Marco.

It upgraded to a tropical storm so its name changed to Marco. It became more deadly, so they gave it a less menacing name, lol. Like , if someone told me Thirteen was coming, I would be scared shitless. If someone told me Marco was coming, I would just say "Make sure he doesn't eat all the Cheetos again".
