A lot of people seem to be really quick to condemn AEW here for a report that has yet to be confirmed to even what questions were supposedly dodged. I get AEW's had a rough weekend, but when you have people in this thread asking what was dodged or what exactly happened and no one can give a straight answer, I find it difficult to jump on a disappointment wagon. This all could very easily be a misunderstanding, if it's not, then yeah, Khan has shit to answer for, but this is a weird thread.

They haven't exactly inspired faith when it comes to publicity, and the good faith wall of being a new company that isn't WWE crumbles further with each f*** up, which let's be real, they aren't having minor hiccups that can be excused anymore. Inconsistent stories, sweep ups, serious injuries, their handling of women, allowing fans back, there gets to a point where defending them comes off like Homer Simpson chasing the Thanksgiving roast. I'm saying this as a big fan of a lot of the performers who was DESPERATE to see the company do so well to the point of bordering on being an apologist, it's too much added together in a short time span to give them the benefit of the doubt off the bat.

Its kind of hard to these things virtually so it might be the case. But I dunno if its a weird thread, I think AEW gets way too much leeway with doing terrible stuff around the web and I'm glad people are realizing they're just another wrestling company and not some kind of savior. I love their product but I'm not gonna delude myself into thinking they'll be anything more.

It's not so much I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt right off the bat but this stories been out for a bit now and there's been no clear story on it, and nothing concrete, it just seems really weird. Not that I don't get your frustration, just seeing a lot of no confirmation and weird vagueness in this thread and the embedded tweets for me to go right to "F*** AEW" and take this as fact right now.

I do truly think they are good for the long term sustainability of wrestling, but I get not letting them off the hook for bullshit I just thought this thread was odd because nothing seems confirmed and it all seems very vague. If they actually did this they deserve to be chewed out and we'd deserve answers on it but it's all seemingly been peculation with no clear result at the moment.

Yeah if anything, it was proven they allowed hardball questions when they discussed the Matt Hardy situation so Im pretty confused myself.

I get holding AEW accountable, but I've never seen Khan shy away from hard questions before, they have answered questions about the women, about the inclusion of black wrestlers in more higher spots on the cards in the future, and the Hardy stuff last night as well. I dont see how any other question could be considered hard in comparison for them to have to avoid... and if they did that's just stupid

I get tensions are high, and I get it it's deserved, but people seem to be willing to beat AEW over the head for an at best extremely vague situation here. Nothing's even been confirmed, there have been multiple different responses by credible sources. The OP also reads like it's a fact when it currently isn't that probably don't help?

Looks like people have been waiting for a chance to pounce on the company and they've found one.

I'm not sure if its AEW just not handling the virtual conference well or theyre trying to pu a Vince or Hunter and sweep it under the rug. Im not gonna give AEW a pass if this report is true. Sweep what under the rug? I feel like I'm missing such a huge chunk of this particular story. Feels like a “someone said a vague thing on Twitter so it’s TOTALLY TRUE” thing. If I’m wrong, and they’re being sketchy about things? I’ll wear that. But, like other have echoed, I kinda need a little meat for this particular moment of outrage.

I do think even in the worst case scenario where some reports aren't asked back, I hope AEW keeps doing these scrums. They've shown themselves willing to address most controversies they've faced and take more than just softball questions. With the Matt Hardy situation for example, they've at least been transparent and willing to take questions from reporters. You may not like the answers, but they're opening themselves up to scrutiny. Some companies never directly address these issues and then get mad when reports find out on their own. I prefer this system significantly.

can we close this threas or change the title for.misinformation? Feels like some reporters didn't get to ask questions and decided to get some attention from the backlash and crap on AEW.(Kristen, Snowden for example)

twitter.com/JESnowden/status/1302786693070761991This seems like more of a weird nothing by the second, honestly. This "mythology" thing is such a vague answer that then goes on to try and pad out some perceived "Oh yeah it's not our fault people misunderstood that" bit in the later comments, but is so abstract in what it's saying that none of this makes a whole lot of sense. A writer lost access and I don't know her work at all, but I also don't know offhand that it must be because she's challenged their mythology or whatever, especially in light of Alba's comments on what he's done way more actively at the press scrums all the vagueness made people think was what was being discussed. But even from the people involved, we've got confirmation that none of this had to do with people last night in the call.
