I've done the Extended Edition marathon 4 times. I'll never ever tire of watching LotR's.
LotRs geek and proud of it!

Well, I just finished and it was a lot of fun. No breaks exept bathroom. Ate some veggie tacos throughout.
Must admit to getting a little mistyeyed there a few times in the end.
I will watch the extended cut too eventually but am saving that till I get a good surround system.
The same goes for my planned Star Wars marathon (in 1,2,3,4,5,6 order btw)

I quote a great man when I say
" Oh, I'm crazy? Those f***in' hobbit movies were boring as hell. All it was, was a bunch of people walking, three movies of people walking to a f***ing volcano."

Lord of the Rings marathon = 3
Star Wars = 6
Pffft ... there is no challenge here ...
Why not try the James bond Marathon! 21 films in a row! Now that would be hardcore!

Eh, just watch Clerks II. Randall sums up the whole trilogy rather nicely.
And I fell asleep during the 1 and 2 in the theater. Didn't bother seeing 3.
