I said in another topic that giving Revolution a rewatch was weird when you see a crowd of 10 thousand people just a fortnight before everything really went to shit and you start thinking things like somebody in that crowd might have had Covid and spread it across the country

It might make me weird, but the first show where we've got a full crowd and it's safe might get me emotional. It'll be nice to have something normal again. They’ll be nuts for the first match, but dead by the end of the show.

It's the opposite for me, I find it extremely hard to watch wrestling without crowds and even months on it still feels weird to not have them there. This is where I’m still at. The COVID era has had some fun matches, but the extra sense of electricity is still missing. Wrestling is a public gathering event.

I’m enjoying wrestling more without the crowds. Sometimes the crowd can really take away from the product. Don’t get me wrong, they amp the product up as well, but I’m finding the the shows and especially the promos a much more smoothe. NXT had the best set up and presentation for the COVID Era. Usually I'd agree, though I have to say I really wish crowds were there to boo Riddle and Devlin into oblivion.

Add me to the camp that misses live crowds. Whether you're talking about the Thunderdome or the Performance Center, I will give WWE some credit for that they kept with the shows going on. However, when watching shows on the network or even DVDs, it makes me miss the crowds even more. The same could be said when I would go to local indie shows. I would go to a show every month with a friend. I actually miss it.

The Undertaker making a final farewell to a series of video walls will be unfortunate.

NJPW has crowds back, though they aren’t allowed to cheer. They can clap and stomp:

Whenever I watch events from other there, it's mindblowing to see the fans all firmly seated during those big spot moments and, if anything, politely reacting to the inanities of wrestling.

Kevin Dunn is going to fit a year's worth of crowd reaction shots into that first show that has an audience.

I'm more used to the small crowds. I never was able to watch the 'no crowds' shows.
And I miss the crowds so damn much that the first time I see a babyface get an actual 10,000-seater, 'jetplane taking off' pop, I am going to cry. Actually cry. It's going to be so beautiful.

The small time crowd thing is even weirder than no crowd to me. Having like 20 people at ringside behind the screens like NXT has such an eerie vibe. They way attendances were declining it wouldn't have been long before there were 20 fans in attendance anyway.

The strangest crowds to look back on for me are music festivals. Seeing a couple of hundred thousand people sweating all over each other in a park on a hot summer day seems so weird to me.

Yeah, watching NJPW doesn't seem that different. The crowd acts pretty much the same, and pre-Covid a lot of Japanese people wore masks at places like that anyway, so when you look at the crowd it isn't even that different.

The only difference is the LIJ roll call as well as Minoru Suzuki's entrance, which incorporates the crowd to chant along.

I have to disagree with some of the comments on the New Japan crowd.
Pre-Covid the crowd would get VERY vocal during heated matches/angles. The restrictions on chanting etc are definitely noticeable in matches. A good example is the heat that KENTA would get at New Year's Dash or New Beginning, the crowds were very vocal against him.

The laser lights seems excessive now with no crowds.
