They did A match for Owen. Because they had Bret on the roster and it was some time after. Don’t get it twisted. This is a similar situation to Heenan giving props to Monsoon when he died. Carve out a moment of respect but in the grand scheme of things, they it really wasn’t their place to be the torch bearer on tributes for that. No, WCW had a tribute video for Owen. I believe it was on the Nitro a week after he passed. I remember the graphic, a statement from Bret, and I remember the Benoit match. I have no memory of this. I wondered how it came out, I t’s not like they had much footage to use since he was only in wcw a short time and before he hit his stride as the king of harts

So far Brodie's got 2 WWE.com articles Massive twitter tributes across 3 WWE accounts A tribute banner before RAW 4 separate tributes on RAW (the intro, Drew, Ricochet/Ali and the New Day) 2 big tribute videos on YouTube possibly a further video on Smackdown tomorrow. This is by far the biggest deal the WWE has ever made over a recently deceased wrestler who wasnt in the HOF or on the current WWE roster - which speaks for how universally adored Brodie/Luke was. Absolutely. They did more than enough and honestly they didn't even need to even if he did work there. It's up to those he touched to share their feelings which they've done beautifully. I can't wait to see what the SD stars say. I'm sure it'll be just as emotional.

There was also Alexa on Raw, she did the, "Yeah yeah yeah," too.

I believe it was on the Nitro a week after he passed. The night after his death, WCW had Tony Schiavone mention Owen at the start of the show as well as 3 bells tolling on a "Owen Hart 1965-1999" graphic. There was a video about a month after Owen's death where he was mentioned but in connection to Bret, who was returning that night.

It's also why I was fine with AEW bringing in Erick Rowan despite the fact they never teamed in AEW. Let the company that he was actively employed with do the big tribute moments.
