Not surprised. MM went all in on that Marquis de Sade hedonism from pretty much day one. I think that a lot of us overlooked it because we thought that he was just playing a character and everyone involved was just “working the gimmick” or something similar. The reality is that most abusers find a way to hide in plain sight. I wonder if it ever occurred to him that De Sade was kidding.

I will treat this the way I treat all these accusations: I don't know whether it happened or not until some kind of proof comes out. As for the thing about "I'm not surprised" and all that shit people are saying, that's bullshit. I look like a f***ing Satanic psycho. I'm a big giant dude and all my clothes are ripped up and covered in skulls and stuff. I look like I will murder your family if you look at me wrong. However, the reality is that I'm a Jewish vegetarian that would never harm another person unless in self defense and opens doors for old ladies and stuff. You can't judge a book by its cover. For the record, I'm not standing up for him. I'm just saying let's wait until there is proof before we nail him to the wall and let his hit songs fade into obscurity. And let's not judge people based on the way they look. Here's a picture of me for funsies. Obviously I'm not judging him by his aesthetic, and I don't think most others are, either. It's because of past behaviors exhibited by him and stories told about him. He has kind of a history of being a piece of shit, but now we're getting, well, a lot more detail about it.

Manson got caught in the end of the expected rock star behavior. Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Guns N’ Roses, Mötley Crüe, Van Halen all openly admit and have for the past 30 years shit that makes Manson a rank amateur.
I’ve said it before. When #metoo comes for music it’s gonna be bad.

Lots of bands who have been on the Warped Tour have stories of bringing underage girls into tour buses. There’s also many rumours of Drake being a groomer, the creep texts Millie Bobby Brown shit like “I miss you”.

It's no wonder nobody wants to be a rock star anymore when they pretty much acted in ways that are reprehensible.

Rock history writes it as “complicated sex life”. And the drugs.

To be honest, one of the things that put me off wanting to be a "rock star" was the thought of having to hang around with these arseholes.

I actually watched "The Decline of Western Civilization 2: The Metal Years" recently and it is such a ROUGH watch. It's really no wonder that style of debauched partying wasteoid living collapsed in on itself. Nobody growing up today looks back at Motley Crue and is like "yeah I wanna be like that!"

Yeah, the idiocy and awfulness on display in that film is fascinating, hilarious, and utterly depressing. Most people who actively covet fame probably aren't equipped for it mentally and end up a burnout or a honking great egomaniacal twat like those guys.

I guess that's kinda mutated in modern culture into young kids obsessed with being an influencer or going viral.

I’ve never heard her stories before and have to do hard research on the past allegations. Is it possible this was a sub dom relationship that he thought was consensual and she didn’t know how to get out of it cause she was young and impressionable? Or is that kinda how brainwashing works? Like he would have wanted that from her regardless?

Like he would have wanted that from her regardless? From what I understand he was grooming her when she was still underage (he just waited until she was 18 before he made it officual). I'll go out on a limb and say "I thought beating and sexually abusing her was okay because of some BDSM thing I never bothered to clarify why her" would probably never hold up in any court. They don't want to set that kind of precedent because then any other scumbag would be given free reign to try it as a defense. A lot of abusers try to make their victim feel like they deserved it to begin with.

Yeah, the media presents fame and being in the industry as something exciting and glamorous and to aspire to, and it isn't, at best it's boring and empty and at worst it's utterly squalid and will eat you alive.
And even when "grunge" came along and was supposed to be a rejection of all of this, the reality is that it wasn't, and they all ended up becoming rock stars too, and a lot of them ended up dead or burnt out from excess and ego.
God, I hate the music industry.

Should clarify, Yes Chris Holmes at that time full blown alcoholic and got up to some shit. But what you saw of him on camera with the vodka bottle, mostly pool water and he was acting up for the camera.

I have a friend who has told me 3 different Warped Tour crowd musicians that tried it on with her underage that haven't actually been exposed yet. One of them, she isn't even the only person who told me about him.
