I'm willing to give it a chance, even if M'Badu remains my favorite wrestling Nigerian.

I still think WWE missed the boat by not having him join 3MB as the "Crews Missile" during his brief feud with them.

I'm confused. I thought he's from the nation of Uhaa? 8( Anyway, it'd be nice for him to ditch his comical name and go by his real one.
The promo was a great surprise. His voice is soft but clear, he sounded confident. I also like the accent and hope he can somehow incorporate it regularly. Not sure about the attire. He's got powerful legs, why hiding them?

Amazing. Have never heard anything remotely close to this good from Apollo promo-wise before. The pants are a good look too.

Seriously? That is his new nickname?
There was a tag team from one of our old local indies that used that.

Yeah, that promo was fire. Also don’t get the impression of him being a “grrr angry heel” type. It’s much closer to something like Prince Nana that don’t need goons because he can whoop yo ass himself.

It's going to morph into Killmonger at some point A jaded man done dirty by the world and wants to watch it burn for what they did to him and the suffering of his people. You have a lot of ammo in this gimmick to take it any direction you want He's an arrogant heel who demands respect because he is royalty or he's a determined heel to write the wrongs of stereotype while being a hypocrite himself. He said he's not from suburbia or the hood, which is a good shot at basically every black character in WWE. Him vs Big E on philosophical level could be real interesting But I don't think WWE is ready for that black vs "real black" type of convo

Kingston has enough cause to be salty at the world as anyone given how his world title run ended. The logical outcome would be Crews and Kingston against Big E and Woods, but I can’t see the New Day guys signing off on feuding with each other for a long time yet, if ever.

This feels like the first time he's had like, an actual character in....like his entire WWE/NXT career. It's amazing what maybe actually trying to write for someone and give them a character can do for a performer. I know it's a radical idea, but it sounds like it's paying off for the guy.

After watching the promo posted I want this to work. I want the WWE to be able to tell interesting stories that are relevant to the thoughts real people in the world,.....but just based on past history I don’t see the WWE being able to pull this off with any level of nuance. There’s a bunch of good places that this could be taken and there’s a bunch of bad places that this could be taken and the WWE has never been able to read the room so I fully expect this to go right off of the cliff.
Good for Apollo for showing some range though, hope it works out for him.

It has legs to work if they wanted to do it. Kofi would be helping Big E get over while also taking on a new mission in helping Apollo. Apollo can easily fill Kofi brain with be proud of where you are from which Kofi is but just up it to a different scale. While some people might be mad at the foreign heel concept, this works As I said in the OP, him and Omos fits perfectly together.

It’s about time they gave him something because dude is super talented. As always, a heel turn instantly makes him 100% more interesting because WWE has got no idea how to book face wrestlers anymore.
