I remember being in attendance for Austin's speech and being bitterly disappointed by how short it was. I wanted to hear some stories damn it.
The simple solution to all this is to record the ceremony and then choose to edit out the stuff that drags on.
These guys should have their moment.

Mr T took us through his entire birth just because he loved his mama. You don't truly love your mama untill you can talk an entire building through your birth in precise visual graphic detail...some legends say he is still talking about the placenta right now. Yeah, Mr. T. is the only person I remember them ever actually having a "Wrap it up please" thing happen.

The simple solution to all this is to record the ceremony and then choose to edit out the stuff that drags on. These guys should have their moment. It really was a disappointment. He even said at the end of the speech that he didn’t say half of what he wanted. I know the previous year we had The Rock inducting his father and grandfather (and spending most of that time doing his usual Rock stuff) and Ric Flair’s long speech and they over-ran by a mile and so they had to tighten up on the length of speeches. But there are some people who are such huge names, just let them speak. I wouldn’t mind Flair giving a long speech as much if I hadn’t just sat there for what was essentially a 40 minute Rock promo.

Yea Kane had to come out and very polietly get him from the stage and I do not remember anyone else having that done to them. And maybe I remember it correctly but I think he even kept talking with Kane waiting behind him lol untill he had to physically remove him from the stage. That speech was so insane it deserves to go into the HOF all on its own.

I feel like Lita's speech was longer, but i dont remember Well she spent enough time going through Mexico. Beths speech was one of the best speeches that I’ve heard because it was a genuine speech and it had Tony Chimal in it. Mr T was brilliant and not for good reasons and there’s one camera shot of Austin pissing himself laughing during it and several wrestlers sitting there with looks of “what am I watching” on their faces. I also remember triple H disappearing from the front row after that speech.

I liked Beth’s speech, even if it was very, very detailed. It was well written, informative, emotional in parts, had some humour, had a lot of thank yous...it was good stuff, just needed condensing.
I’d rather a long speech than a short one. I remember Jacqueline’s being about 3 minutes long and it was basically her naming some women she wrestled (going into no detail) and thanking her family.
Somewhere in the middle of those would be perfect. I read the Bellas had their time cut for the pre-recorded section this year which is terrible.

Maria Menunous is still talking about Mr.Backlund. THAT was a brutal one, to sit through, in person. Speaking of long speeches, how has "not gonna be long" Goldberg, not been mentioned??

In something I’ve never exactly gotten to the bottom of...Doug Stanhope tweeted WWE f***ed him on his deal, which was writing portions of Mr. T’s speech and then after the tweets, they did make it right.
I tried asking him, he’s pretty decent about responding to fans, but he never did answer me.
So I have no idea what happened there.

Some say Hillbilly Jim’s speech is still taking place as we speak.
I did get a kick out of Larry Zbyszko being so overawed by the occasion that he kept losing track and going back to the story of meeting Bruno in his garden, it was quite endearing.
Lita’s speech spent way too long in Mexico.
Beth’s speech was perfectly fine, I didn’t think it was that bad tbh.
A surprisingly good speech? The Bushwhackers. Although admittedly that came after the emotional Connor the Crusher induction and I think everyone needed a laugh after that.

You certainly can't accuse WWE of not making use of Mr T's time in some fashion...

I remember thinking someone should tell Hillbilly Jim that he's Hillbilly Jim and not Hulk Hogan or Ric Flair.

Lita's felt too long. Beth's was one of my favorite speeches even if it was on the longer side.

I'm curious now what the longest HOF speech was.

I was there for Flair’s speech and was riveted the whole time.
I loved every minute of it.

Didn't Mr. T have a really long one before her? Yes, but Mr T is also much more important to the history of the company

The 2018 one was pretty crushing in general. Both Hillbilly Jim and Goldberg went on for an eternity and I feel like Ivory did too, plus you had the Jeff Jarrett music number that no one present seemed to at all care about. Then you had Triple H's weird speech about the value of music as an art form because he couldn't come up with anything to say about Kid Rock specifically.

Has Stan Hansen finished thanking everyone from All Japan yet? "And I will now thank everyone I've lariated." And now I will thank all the kids I have to feed.
