Thought it should have been next Wrestlemania, BUT this Summerslam is going to be Mania like so why not then?

The idea of Roman facing zero setback and not dropping the belt until next years Mania sounds like actual hell. Smackdown is already barely watchable because it's the same thing over and over. Roman has beaten everyone and it's just A'noai family drama. It's a drag to watch him open the show every week with a f***ing ten minute entrance. Man, Smackdown has been fantastic, I can’t get enough of Roman’s title reign and family conflict story. Reigns-Mysterio seems pretty fun too Fine if you think that way man but I have been far from the only person even here who has said Smackdown just feels like Misery Booking plus Groundhog Day. I've seen several people prefer RAW the last few weeks.

As soon as possible.
Over a year with no source of consequences is too long and it's too late for it to be a minor hindrance or embarrassment.

His reign is just getting exhausting. But I'm one of the few it seems who thinks the whole family drama is unwatchable. I haven't watched smackdown since wrestlemania and I don't see that changing. But I'm also not an Uso fan. They're immediate channel changers for me.

I don't see who he would drop it to now. If you didn't give it to the Edgemeister at Wrestlemania. Unless Lesnar comes back, who credibly takes it off him and why? Nobody waiting in the wings.

I think he needs to drop it this summer. I don't care if he gets it back sometime later this year. It's going to be hard to care about monthly challengers if it becomes too obvious that he's just going to keep winning until his quarterly big match against a part timer.

After he breaks Bruno's record, Kenny will finally add the WWE title to his collection, as by that point the Khans will own WWE.
Obviously.

People are never happy.
If the title changes hands too much, people bitch and moan it's devalued. If they have a strong champion winning all the time, it's boring and too strong (unless the performer is well liked, then it's good for business).
I say let him keep it for the long haul.

It's not an either-or situation, and besides, Roman has been champion for almost a year. That is plenty long-haul as it is. I like Roman and have been good with his reign, but I'd like to keep it that way and not have it wither on the vine because they didn't know when to harvest.

Well, to be fair, it's partly because 'people' is not one person with one opinion, and also because WWE these days doesn't really do 'solid' mid-level reigns any more, it's either hot shotting a belt around as many people as possible in a short space of time, or holding it forever until well past the point an angle is hot.

If the goal is for him to be a strong babyface after this heel run, the goal needs to be for him to keep the belt while alienating his family and everyone around him, he needs to lose Jey, then lose Heyman, until whoever takes him down finally does so, humble him completely, then have him realize what a monster he had become and turn face again.
