Someone pointed out the Cookie Monster shirt was for CM Punk, the Bucks Hawaii shirts for Bray Wyatt, and the robe for Gallows was for Flair. And the basketball for batista.

As an actual metal head who has always worn ripped up jeans and stuff, can someone please explain the reasoning behind current hip hop fashion to me? Its like, they wear ripped up jeans that they spent a lot of money on with fake paint stains and shit and then wear t-shirts of metal bands that they (for the most part, not everyone) don't actually listen to. And I'm not hating on hip hop. I just don't get why they want to look metal suddenly. It would be like if country singers and fans suddenly started dressing like swing musicians in zoot suits and shit. People just like the distressed look, and paint spatters have popped up all over the place for years, like a ton of old Affliction designs. I think some of it is crossover appeal, anyway, like how some hip hop artists have tried doing rock stuff, with admittedly a lot of that being not very good to awful, so maybe it's like Nu Metal with rap, just coming from the opposite direction this time.

Its not the distressed look I have issue with. Jean styles change every 5-10 years and that's the current one mostly. Also, as I said I have no issue with hip hop artists (or fans) that do crossover type music and/or legit like metal wearing shirts of metal bands they like. What's odd is the current fashion style of a music genre for the most part is just copying another style. Even down to t-shirts of bands they don't listen to. You don't have to be an obsessed fanboy to have a bands shirt, but you should at least be a fan to some degree. And one of hip-hop's defining characteristics has always been that its legit. So seeing these legit people dressed like posers of a different music style battles me. It would be like if hippies started dressing in baggy jeans, do rags, and Tupac shirts. I actually kind of get adopting that "metal attitude" but I would think hip hop fans would want to wear shirts of rappers they like with those distressed jeans and stuff. Which I've actually started to notice in my area a little. The hip hop style people seem to have started replacing their Slayer shirts with shirts of 80's and 90's rappers and it looks way coo!er and more authentic. But I digress. I didn't even really mean to make an issue of the style itself. I think the fact that a hip hop clothing store is called Rockstar Clothing kinda got me on that tangent. I was actually more asking someone to explain where this look started more than anything just because its so bizarre to me.

Side note but I’ve seen similar “massage guns” on sale at Target and am fiending to buy one.
