I know Mo Salah from Liverpool and Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne (whose surname is just so fun to say), so maybe they’re good to support?

Don’t know if you have any loyalty to teams in other sports in the US but it could play a part (negatively or positively) in who you choose as some clubs are owned by the same people who own sports franchises in the US. For example, the same people who own Liverpool own the Red Sox, the same people who own the Buccaneers own Man Utd and the guy who now owns Chelsea part-owns the LA Dodgers and Lakers.

20 years ago today, our secondary school was allowed to go into our main hall during cloass to watch England vs. Brazil and that Ronaldinho free kick.
I'm not one of those "Man, I feel old" types but that feels maddening considering.

Now they're going to a fifth in a row, one of only 12 countries right now with such a long active streak.

I remember watching it in my local pub at 7am or whatever time it kicked off U.K. time and everyone being down for the rest of the day. Thankfully the college I was at at the time took our class to the cinema to see Spider-Man. To soften the blow I guess (or to give us a treat if England had won).

Slightly off topic but it reminds me of a prank my usually mellow and serious English teacher did with our class around that time. He told us he had the Spider-Man movie on VHS and he was going to show it in class. They got so excited and I was thinking “Huh, not usually like him to get a bootleg” (our math teachers got a shitty bootleg of Toy Story 2 so the precedence was there) and when he started playing it…it was the 70s TV Spider-Man and the groans could have powered the East of London for at least 5 years. He gave them to me when he was leaving and I still have them somewhere. Honestly, I was honored haha.

Chelsea and Inter Milan have agreed a deal to allow Lukaku to run back to Italy with his tail between his legs.

To the surprise of no one Cristiano Ronaldo is looking for a way out of Man Utd. Supposedly Bayern Munich are interested. Ronaldo & Mane would be a heck of a forward line.

Was in Junior School at the time and we had to watch the first half at home but were allowed to come in to watch the second half. An amazing experience but so disheartening when defeat came our way.

Probably for the best for both parties to be honest. Ronaldo is still phenomenal but signing him last summer was United's biggest mistake in a season full of them. He badly unbalanced the team that finished 2nd the previous season and the change in style to accommodate him neutered their star player from the previous half season. If I was ETH I'd be helping Ronaldo pack his bags and if I was Ronaldo I'd be thinking about how well I'd slot into a Lewa-less Bayern outfit. It's a win win for both.

Liverpool signing Nunez is certainly an interesting one, hope he settles in quickly and has a great season for us especially since a lot of money was spent on him so there'll be extra pressure on him. Carvalho is one for the future but I think he's a good signing, wait and see how Ramsay does as the back-up for Trent. Just waiting for August now for when the season starts again.

Wayne Rooney has asked to leave Derby County. He is 36, his face is...older.

Wayne Rooney has asked to leave Derby County. He is 36, his face is...older. Given the circumstances I thought he did a brilliant job for them last season. I'm guessing Derby's fans will be gutted since he seemed like a popular manager there but I get his reasons, it must've been a frustrating season behind the scenes alone last season. But yeah, he might be younger than me but he looks old enough to be my Uncle or something Seriously though I'm sure he'll land another job sooner rather than later based on how he did at Derby under difficult circumstances.

Looks like Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal is pretty much done. Really excited about this signing and hoping for great things. We certainly need a goal scorer after Auba & Laca both left and neither were firing much anyway. Not sure what this means for Nketiah though.

I mean, he’s signed a new contract recently so I’m guessing there’s been conditions made in that happening. We also just signed a new backup keeper in Matt Turner from New England Revolution and it might not be the most blockbuster signing but I’m also not used to us being so productive in the transfer market so early.

I was always going to be down about our transfer business this summer after missing out on the Champions League but if we get Jesus & Raphinha that would be a quality transfer window considering we don’t have that Champs Lge pull. Hoping Vieira turns out to be a bargain as well.

Raphinha could be a decent signing for you. As for Vieira, I don't know anything about him except that he's joined you so I'm curious to see him.

Gabriel Jesus, I'm sure I read somewhere that his preferred position is on the right wing.
