Always thought Cheech and Cloudy deserved better. I recently rewatched the King of Trios where they teamed with MC KZ, and they were pretty damn tight. Cheech and Cloudy were a pretty good tandem for a while in CHIKARA.

I forget, was Jack Evans in the group? I guess it'd be kinda beneath him, even before he honed his act in Dragon Gate and AAA.

The only thing I really remember about them was that when Abyss was apart of the group they would dance around him while he looked confused. It was the damnest thing

Special K is one of the weirdest damn gimmicks, maybe especially because there were so many of them. I have to wonder if it was just an ongoing try-out until they could find the few in there that ROH actually thought were worth a damn (only Jay Lethal stood the test of time, but Azrieal, Cheech and Cloudy, and IIRC Deranged and Dixie all had short runs where they were attempted as serious wrestlers). It actually feels like a semi-spiteful insult to a swath of wrestlers that ROH brought in. Like, "Oh, with the way you wrestle, we need to package you with Special K just to warn the audience what they're in for." I also wonder if ROH's DVD mail-order format saved the promotion from getting more vitriol for them. I know that I always skipped every Special K (and Carnage Crew, for that matter) match, and I can't imagine I was the only one. They'd probably be more infamous and badly-remembered if ROH had been putting on this act on a TV show every week with no way to skip except changing the channel. Oh God, the Carnage Crew, their 2002 feud with Homicide is one of the most head scratching feuds in ROH history. It began at the first show where Homicide and his extremely obscure tag partner Boogalou: The Natural Born Sinners, were disqualified in a tag match in which Loc was working as the referee for using a rubber chicken of all things. This led to Homicide and Boogalou brutally forking him in his face. As it turned out however, Loc was best friends with ECW Alumni Tony Devito, who tried to help him to take revenge on Homicide and his crew which at this time included Da Hit Squad of Mafia (a young Dan Maff) and Monsta Mack. They got beaten in a Bunkhouse match by Homicide and Boogalou, after which they jumped the Natural Born Sinners, only for Da Hit Squad to intervene. This led to a "Boston Massacre" match, in which they again got their ass kicked. Loc and Devito then jumped the Natual Born Sinners backstage putting out Boogalou for good (in actuality he no showed ROH to be part of XPW which was a poor career move in hindsight.) This led to Homicide recruiting Abdullah the Butcher to face them in another Bunkhouse match. This one went about ten minutes and mostly consisted of them being hit with multiple weapons, and being tortured with forks by Homicide and Abdullah, while begging for mercy until Homicide mercifully decided to end it with the Cop Killa. Afterwards they cut a promo about how they proved they could hang with the best in the business and earned the fan's respect... Even though they didn't win a single match in their whole feud, got their asses completely kicked by Abdullah, and spent most of that match crying like bitches and begging for their lives. It was the pro wrestling equivalent of getting in over your head with a tough guy at the bar, getting your ass kicked, then picking a fight with their friends getting your asses kicked, jumping one of them as they go to the bathroom, prompting to get their even bigger friend who also kicks your ass. Then going to your friends to bragging about how tough you are.
