All of the footage in that Youtube recap video is footage that should have been left on a cutting room floor.
The possible shoot aspect is probably going to overshadow what utter nonsense many of those sequences were. Charlotte sort of trying to do a front facelock and then just...stopping...and getting on all fours as if she took a move. That entire thing with the...inverted DDT? That was delayed for ages, presumably because Nia wasn't cooperating? The fireman's carry with the flailing and...
I don't have words for a lot of this. It's the wrestling match equivalent of a page-long keyboard smash.

Nia Jax is probably the worst case of nepotism I've ever seen in professional wrestling when you combine family connections, talent (or lack thereof), safety issues, and years on TV without losing their job or facing any serious consequences.

I don't think there's been anyone in wrestling with such a window between their best possible match ceiling and their worst possible match floor than Charlotte Flair. Charlotte seems like someone that can wrestle at the level of her opponent... a good to decent opponent she can have a good to decent match... (provided she actually looks like she cares.) below average to bad? She has trainwrecks...

That was seriously insane to watch. Damn.
Could have even sworn I heard the ref say “watch yourselves”. Oooh boy, to be a fly on the wall backstage haha

God DAMN that went off the rails. I kinda can’t believe they uploaded it at all. Looks like things went south after the Charlotte boot, which looked stiff. Nia unloaded for real with some of those slaps and Charlotte cocked back like she was gonna swing for real. That could have been even worse.

Nia Jax is an absolute liability. She is going to injure someone even worse than she already has, and that is going to be on WWE for not acknowledging that she's simply not good.

When she's pursuing the Championship, she seems to care well enough. When she's going to win, she cares. When she's not in the title picture or, like tonight, is going to lose, she just goes through the motions worse than a case of Sasha Banks boo-boo face.

In the live thread tonight I realized how much alike Charlotte and HHH are when it was pointed out she's always wrestling like a face even when she's heel; they both do that "I'm so desperate for you all to like me I'm gonna do a bunch of face spots and taunts because I need this" thing in matches as heels. She even did the "stand in the ring after a loss to get sympathy" to no reaction; she really is the new HHH

Would it be fair to say that, if there was any dirt on Flair being a bit of a prima donna backstage about losing matches or belts and all that, we would've heard about it by now? I mean, there have been enough women fired from WWE in the last few years who were around her on a regular basis, either they're being polite or there isn't any dirt and the whole constant pushes and title runs thing is all on WWE's end.

Watching it again, there's just so many moments where they both look like a move is about to happen...then it just...doesn't

Omos/Morrison are very lucky they were on the same show as this match. It's getting no attention because of it. That spot where Morrison did a flip only to be met by Omos....doing nothing was painful. John Morrison's booking since he re-signed with WWE has been painful.

The weirdest part of all of this is, between the commentary and clips WWE chose to put out there, I think they WANTED this to look like a shoot and sloppy. Like, not to be all "they get pizza together after the show", but it feels like they engineered a trainwreck to try to get attention, and I do not think Nia is anywhere near good enough to do that safely.

Watch them trademark like SPLATTER STYLE™ and do a bunch of work shooty stiff shot matches like this.

You can't just start working like WALTER and Ilja Dragunov on a whim.

I haven't heard any dirt on her, no. Most I remember hearing was her intervening when she felt Alexa was being bullied by who people often think was Sasha, but not sure if that was ever confirmed or not by anyone, either, or just process of elimination.

Okay, I watched it, and... I kinda don't understand why everyone's like "you need to see this!" It's just awkward and boring and a little scary, but it's not fun to watch at all.

I've never seen a wrestler where you either have the best matches of your career with her like Rhea or they are absolutely poison together like Evans, Nia, Alexa... She never just has an ok match... it's either great or it's f***ing dumpster fire dogshit. It's amazing.

What if this gets so much buzz they do Raw Underground but like in matches. "WHEN ARE THEY GONNA FIGHT FOR REAL?! FIND OUT NEXT" Just look at this thread. People want to see this match, even if it is just for trainwreck value. How f***ed up is it that nearly everyone is so good at wrestling now that THAT has become a homogenous paste and now its BAD matches that are drawing interest? Car crash meme potential is a draw. When something is so bad that you have to see it to see how bad it is? It's always going to be high demand It's why Botchamania has been popular for years now. And this'll probably have its own dedicated segment.
