WWE is too big of a brand. They’re always going to have people who want to wrestle for them Hell for a lot of people WWE is still their childhood dream job. I'll always say that even if I don't like or get confused as to what WWE is doing many wrestlers dream of going to the WWE. Now what happens once you reach WWE may change the opinion. But a guy like KO could walk right into AEW and be a top heel or face, have more freedom and while he won't make the money he did on a WWE contract solely with an AEW or impact he would likely be able to do more that would supplement any loss of income so that may be more appealing to him now.

I’m not so sure that the AEW contracts for top-tier talent aren’t at the same level financially of the WWE offers.

I don't want to see him in AEW, because I'm not convinced he can feel different there. Same old Kevin Owens having matches with different people would still be same old Kevin Owens for me.

How long until no one wrestles for WWE? No one really wrestles for WWE.... they entertain via sports.

AEW cant take everyone, else they can't grow any youth either.
WWE swallowed up all these people, and I know long time fans of them want to see these dream matches or old ROH reunions....but is that worth putting over actually growing your own youth talent?
I say no, I know others will have different mileages and certainly AEW still has bags of good will to be given the chance to see if they can do that balancing act, which WWE almost categorically doesnt have anymore.
But still, AEW can't take everyone.
That's what happened to WCW when they caught fire, and it cleared the decks enough for a true New Generation to rise and conquer.

Dude has mostly bored me since his horrible Universal Title reign, so it'd be nice to see him go somewhere else and rejuvenate his career. Since he got squashed by Goldberg at Fastlane he hasn't been the same to me. Outside of his Mania match with Seth I'm struggling to think of highlights outside of the occasional good little promo.

WWE is always going to have people. In a way it's better for a lot of people in WWE if whoever they bring in can be lab-grown to look down on non-WWE wrestling and only ever work for them. People recruited from magazines and from other sports where they can be trained and groomed and kept away from the wider world of wrestling. In the mind of the people running the company, these factors probably go together really well. They want to be isolated, want to shun indie prospects again and have more wrestlers like the OVW call-up flame-outs of the mid '00s who fell out of WWE and never showed up anywhere else. The best thing WWE can hope for is a loyal long-tiem talent they can turn into a star, but the second best thing is someone who can be shown up, wrung of every drop of value, and thrown not only out of the company but right out of the business. I feel like being WWE from the word go is the biggest reason Orton and Ziggler are still around. Both of them could very likely have left years ago and become way better working elsewhere but likely feel comfortable with WWE because it's all they've ever known anyway. I've never considered this and this is an excellent point. Like, Randy Orton debuted when it was still the WWF and he grew up with his father being part of one of the company's biggest eras. Ziggler was the one dude who survived multiple abrupt gimmick changes (the Caddy, Spirit Squad) at a time when just about all of his contemporaries were tried-once-and-done so maybe he feels conditioned to have a security there beyond what anyone else who has joined 2000-2010 has.

Per Alba: Multiple people internally in WWE expect Kevin Owens to leave when his contract is up
It could change as there is plenty of time for WWE to attempt to woo him. But it kinda sounds like the Adam Cole situation where they just seemed resigned that he was leaving after a point...

I know AEW can't and shouldn't sign everyone who leaves WWE, but I imagine they'd be giving him a call. The promo battles between a motivated KO and MJF would be gold.

Can't be a coincidence that Owens is out the door immediately after WWE drops catering.

I've heard from people that this reminds them of the Monday Night War, with everyone jumping ship & that. But back then, there were wrestlers going both ways... now it seems like they're all fleeing to AEW. Does anyone think someone is going to jump to WWE from that side?

That's what happened to WCW when they caught fire, and it cleared the decks enough for a true New Generation to rise and conquer. I don't think we have to worry about them signing everything, or else we'd be seeing Matt Cardona and Brian Meyers feuding with Joe Hennig and Bo Rotunda. Also, regarding youth, they just signed Lee Moriarty tonight. Some of the AEW Originals will probably start cycling out before we know it. Daniels is semi-retired, The Bucks said back in 2019 that they'd be retiring sooner than we think. AEW have plenty of youth, but you have to replace those vets that will help the youth grow.

The turn around on KO’s part is is kind of crazy. I thought back to that thread on here asking if he’d get another title run and was surprised how many people were like “Nope”.
