Good for him, I do wonder if this was accelerated because of AEWs numbers. If so, It proves exactly why you need competition He's been marked as champ for a year and the countdown has been on since he won MITB and Kofi and Xavier got washed by Lashley Oh yeah, definitely. I do think having Big E call his shot on twitter and outright tell people he was cashing in today was probably a "pop the number" move, but also one that fits, anyway, and is honestly a perfectly legitimate promotional tactic.

Believe this is also the first time the WWE title changed hands between Black competitors. Yeah, it'd have to be. Like, they've maybe done it with the World title, etc, but definitely not the WWE title before.

Yeah, I'd count that, just you said WWE title, so I figured we were strictly talking about the main one. For some reason, I always feel like Booker lost the world title to Lashley, but nope, they just had a few title matches.

I think it's interesting that as the WWE is completely rebranding development and what they want. Now both of their champs are hugely muscular guys who are WWE trained, never worked anywhere else and were college football players... Just a thought. Good thing we didn't cast Reigns or Big E aside on sight just for being college football guys first and being entirely homegrown and let them prove themselves. Sure, Reigns had that rough trot for like five years and people are sick of his current booking, but most of that isn't on anything he's been doing, most would say he's talented. And it's hard to recall a time when people DIDN'T like Big E. Maybe when he was with Ziggler and Lee and it was clashing with the initial babyface persona from NXT, I guess?

And Mark Henry lost it to Big Show to transition it to Daniel Bryan with his own MITB cash-in.

Then you mentioned the World and I just knew off hand that Booker lost the WCW title to Rock... and again the WHC sometimes is considered the same as WCW >_>

About damn time. I'd rather he got a title off Brock to avenge Kofi's loss but I'll take it.

Now we just gotta get Woods the title… I feel like he probably won't be world champion, but I wouldn't mind him as US or IC champ sometime, to at least see how that goes.

Good for him, I do wonder if this was accelerated because of AEWs numbers. If so, It proves exactly why you need competition If you buy in on Meltzer and Alvarez the answer is yes. The basic jest is All Out did over 200k buys and they made over 5 mill on it. Following that Dynamite beat Raw in the 18-49 demo. They basically lost their shit waking up in a wrestling war they didn't realize they were in. They're gonna try to do more PPV quality tv and such because no matter what they say, they aren't happy that AEW is doing well. Also that who MSG smackdown speech where Roman was saying this is our city etc was entirely aimed at AEW.

Anyone remember when we called him the Amazing Symmetrical Man in FCW? Think it was the same class as the famous Meltman.
Really damn please for Big E. He's such a natural entertainer that for a while it seemed like they'd never recognise what else he could do. Now he's got the belt, I do hope it's a nice long run.
And give him that Goldberg match, get that meat slapped. Workrate? Bump dat.

Long overdue I always thought Big E was the guy out of the three New Day members that was a can’t miss main eventer. I’m really interested as well to see where this goes from here.
Big E v Goldberg in Saudi Arabia?

Huuuuge congrats to the man. Been a massive New Day mark for years, so feel great right now.
I don't care if this was done 'because of AEW' or 'because MNF was back'. The only thing that matters is that they did it. Now pleeeeease follow it up well, WWE!

At this point it's gonna be stupid if we don't get Big E vs Goldberg
I don't want to see Goldberg anymore but Big E has gone on record MULTIPLE TIMES saying that is his dream match. Let him have it.
