61 is way too young nowadays. I wasn't a huge fan but I saw him in movies and on TV and read things about him online. Dirty Work was one of the few movies I saw in a theater over the last 25 years and all because of Norm. He was head and shoulders above many of these so called comedians who probably have way more money than him because they talk down to viewers and get away with it but like mentioned, Norm never talked down to viewers. He had his values and political opinions but he never pushed it on you like many of these men and women comedians do. This is really a shame and I truly hope that doctors can truly find a cure for cancer at some point. If there's anything that's "not fair" it's Norm not being here anymore!
And to channel my inner Jim Ross..."IT'S NOT FAIR" "IT'S NOT FAIR" "IT'S NOW FAIR!"

His sense of humor is something that I didn't really get into when he started to get big... you have to admit, it's pretty different.
Lately I've heard more from him that was not as edgy but still definitely 'him' that seemed to connect with differently.
Rest in peace, sir...

When told of Norm's passing, OJ Simpson responded with " DAMN YOU CANCER!!! HE WAS MINE!!!!
No, but really, R.I.P.

"Yippie! Norm Macdonald died today. Oh sorry I read the prompter wrong, that was supposed to be 'Yippie' Norm Macdonald died today."
"Norm Macdonald comedy genius died today at the age of 61. For those of you who don't know. Norm Macdonald was fired from Saturday Night Live for making repeated jokes about O.J. Simpson's murder trial despite O.J. being good friends with the head of NBC Don Ohlmeyer.... What a genius, he will be missed."

Norm MacDonald has passed away.
Or so the Germans would have us believe.

I don’t know if this age and climate has dated his SNL run but his quips on OJ and Michael Jackson on Weekend Update are second to none. or so the Germans would have us believe.....

Can we also discuss how great of show his short lived Sports Show on Comedy Central was. “Oh google” and “Garbage Time” had me in stitches

I forgot he was on The Middle.
Apparently he finished his work for The Orville. I wonder if Mike Tyson Mysteries is coming back, and if so...??

I use this to explain why WWE still gets big bucks for Raw in spite of their ratings being low.
Because the ratings for the rest of USA are even worse.

While I deeply admire Norm deciding he wanted to define himself by his jokes and not his condition, I do wish he could have made one final statement to the public, because you know he would have been hilarious with it. "The greatest gift I ever received was being able to do stand-up for all these years. Though now that I'm thinking about it, not getting cancer probably would have been just as good."

You know we've lost a good one with how dark he could be with his humor, no one outside of his bosses at SNL has ever said a bad thing about Norm.

Norm Macdonald had more balls than anybody in entertainment. And he managed to be both Non PC and edgy without being a divisive cringeworthy political pundit comedian.
He legitimately told jokes because he thought they were funny and did what he wanted. He hit a lot more than he missed and some of his stuff is absolutely brilliant. I think he’ll be appreciated more in death than in life but that’s unfortunate.
Ask yourself “who does Norm Macdonald remind you of?” And the answer is “nobody”. Because he was unique
I still quote Dirty Work to this day.
“ Why do dogs always race to the door when the doorbell rings? It's almost never for them.”

Can we also discuss how great of show his short lived Sports Show on Comedy Central was. “Oh google” and “Garbage Time” had me in stitches I love the first interview he did after it was cancelled. He was asked what he's going to do now that 'Sports Show' was cancelled, and he said "I'm going to call Comedy Central and ask them to please not cancel it."
