MLB Playoffs will be preventing Smackdown from airing on FOX Ahh, that makes sense. I look forward to the thread where everyone panics about Smackdown having a massive drop when that's pretty much the most consistent thing to happen to it on FS1. Last time Smackdown was on FS1 it got a million viewers. I'm not sure if it'll hold true this time especially with the MLB Playoffs though. An overrun might also just not retain the viewership. I can see why Tony might be a tad confident with them attempting the overrun on a much lesser Network with the MLB Playoffs happening. Rampage might actually have a benefit of starting right at 10PM but they could also take a hit from the Playoffs too. Depends on how the game may be going by 10PM. In any case the crossover with WWE and AEW watchers is pretty minimal. Live Rampage will definitely help though with no spoilers to read days in advance too. Less DVR potential. It'll be fascinating to see the numbers but I ain't gonna cry death on any company if they're lower or mick someone for trying to hype it up which is exactly what Khan is doing.

This seems like a stupid thing to do. Not a huge deal at all but seems like a waste of everyone’s time.

I find this to be kinda dumb because everytime Sasha faced AEW she beat them(Sasha vs Becky is main eventing and that one will be a long match), Khan shouldve put a better match than Ruby vs Bunny, why not do something like Ruby vs Shida to prove who has the better women division?

You keep saying this but Rampage and next week's card were planned out days ago to air tonight. Nobody knew Smackdown was going to have an overrun until tonight. He can always change the card up now that he knows but tbh Punk/Sydal or the Six Man is opening and probably going most of the overrun. Frankly Khan doesn't need to compromise his cards either or hotshot Shida/Ruby in the process imo.

I might have an issue with what he said if WWE hadn’t started it and continued to restart it.

I might have an issue with what he said if WWE hadn’t started it and continued to restart it. I know some people here don't like Meltzer but what he said on this was pretty much correct. Vince does not want to lose on a Friday Night being moved to a lesser channel and having to go up against Baseball. So he frontloaded this Smackdown and got a half hour overrun he would never get on FOX itself to try and maintain any sort of leverage over AEW he can even if it's just Rampage Even if Rampage loses? I honestly find that way more pathetic. You can be miffed about Khan's tweet all you wanna be... but that Tweet doesn't exist without WWE continuing to try and step in the lane of something that has done it's damndest to AVOID any confrontation with them. They can't help themselves. Pretty interesting for something that "Isn't competition" huh?

How this Tony vs WWE stuff seems to come off, to me. I know AEW have definitely caused WWE to sit up and take notice internally and privately, but they never really publicly acknowledge them. It's all one way publicly, and it comes across a little silly.

I think someone in here described the tweet perfectly. It breeds online toxic tribalism. Reminds me of a certain political figure...
That being said, Rampage certainly has a chance to beat Smackdown on FS1. That move kills their ratings every time.

Yep that‘s the one. Obviously much less important issues at hand here, but it helps breed/fuel a similar type of tribalism.

Tony Khan plays chicken, drives a car at you, yelling at laughing all the while, and then swerves out of the way. The WWE just runs you over, drives five miles, and then gets out of the car, and says they didn't realize they hit anyone, it was just on the way to where they were going.

...Are we really making the comparison we're making? Because Jesus guys... Apparently so. Ridiculous isn't it. The idea btw, that WWE don't think or care about AEW is absolutely laughable. I can't believe there are people who genuinely think that.

...Are we really making the comparison we're making? Because Jesus guys... The comparison was made to someone fanning the flames of toxic discourse/tribalism through online tweets, not a comparison of the seriousness of the issues or a comparison of the people as a whole. I mean just click the comments on that tweet and yikes.

It's a stupid comparison is what I'm saying. It's like turning Pepsi/Coke or Nintendo/Sega (which this is) into, like, the Cold War (Which it isn't)

No, I'm saying Jesus is entering the AEW title tournament and going to call out Cena after he wins because he didn't finish the job.
