Oh man, yah… one of the only AEW shows I watched awhile back he looked off and I joked about him looking like Santa because he was just very round and red in the face. Here’s to him getting better for his family. ❤️ There were also people complaining about the paradigm shift looking like a butterfly suplex in the last months, Mox not able to do hit finisher properly was already a sign that he wasnt healthy. I just assumed it was an attempt to make it safer.

There is so much toxic, dark stuff out there, I'm almost a little dumbstruck to see something healthy and positive happening.
They're not WEIRD about it, is what I keep circling back to. It can just be a person getting help and taking care of his health, and we're all happy he has the opportunity to get that help, and we're all patient while it happens. No seediness, no shaming, no anger, no mockery. Everyone is just open about this position of vulnerability he's in, because it's absolutely not remotely close to anything he should be ashamed of.

I’ve struggled with alcohol in the past myself so…kudos to Mox for this. And kudos to Tony for being open about it and not trying to Kayfabe it away.

Literally the second page of his book he refers to himself as “borderline alcoholic”. Damn.

So, yeah. paywindah gets a time out no doubt about it. Also, to paywindah, considering your little shtick, it ends here, when you get back, and from beyond that. Don't ever post in the AEW section again unless you want your time out to be permanent. Just to be clear, if you ever post again in the AEW section you're banned with no expiration date. Going a bit further, don't try to be cute and refer to AEW related stuff on the other boards. Everyone else, ignore what just happened and carry on your usual business. Talk about butts or something.

I have to give a lot of credit to Moxley as well as his generation of workers (and the one younger than him) who feel like they can be more open about their struggles without worrying about not being seen as "real men" or losing their spot. It also says a lot for Tony Khan that his talent feels like they can confide in him about these sorts of things.
It's been long overdue in the making, but it does seem like wrestling is moving past this toxic masculinity in terms of locker room attitude. I'm really happy to see it and hope Jon inspires more wrestlers to take the initiative on any addiction issues they have.

Saw this quote from his WO interview a few days ago and it hit even harder after today's news:
The guy is tough as shit but he's been wrestling death-matches and ladder matches and all kinds of crazy stuff for years. Hell, he was practically begging Brock Lesnar to use barbed wire and thumbtacks and do other wild stuff to him to get their match over. I can't imagine the kind of physical pain he's willingly been through over the years and so many wrestlers turn to alcohol/drugs/pills to help dull that pain. He really deserves all the credit in the world for taking initiative, saying enough is enough and willingly asking for help rather than just powering through it all and ending up another wrestling tragedy.

That match with Jimmy Jacobs last Saturday was absolutely f***ing brutal. Coupled with the Nick Gage match at GCW what, three weeks ago? Even for a pro wrestler he must have been hurting. Good on him for doing something about it.

Good to see him getting the help he needs.
Would hate to see him go through what the likes of Scott Hall and Jake Roberts went through.

Just saw this news earlier today
Good on him for getting the help he needs that can save himself and be there for his family in the long haul
He had been looking a little weathered lately but figured that was wear and tear due to the baby. Everything is probably connected but wishing him nothing but the best and taking the adult decision to seek help and have the support system around him

Props for Mox for putting his health and family above his career and thankfully doing so before the situation got too big for him to handle.
This is one paradigm shift for the better.

Between Mox, and mental health issues with bunny and blade, as an older fan it makes me happy to see that this generation has learned a lot from the previous one and are not afraid to get the help they need instead of going to the demons of generations past I'm really glad... because I never want to see another Larry Sweeney or Chris Kanyon happen again...

What helps a little is having a locker room of retired/semi retire vets (Such as Sting, Arn, Jake Roberts and Tully) who have all survived through situations like this and could give valuable advice on how to cope. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if Jake hasn't already given Moxley DDP's contact info already.

Not much else I can say other than that I’m rooting hard for him, and hopefully he comes back stronger than ever.

You can put Dustin Rhodes into that group because he's been open about his issues in the past. He'll have plenty of people around him who can give him good advice to keep him on the right track when he gets done with his treatment.

This is a huge life change/choice. It is not easy. I went to a 28 day inpatient treatment center for my alcoholism in 2019, then went to outpatient for six months after that. I have been sober for over two years now. Things are still hard for me and adjusting to life without alcohol isn't easy. Alcohol is everywhere, and most adults drink.
I'm so happy for him. He might have a long road ahead, and Renee might need to make some changes as well for him, but he is on the right road.

Interesting timing with his book coming out. He gets help and it sells a few more copies because of the attention. Win-win... You suck man.

Talk about butts or something. Big fan of butts, myself. Jon Moxley's butt. Good butt (perhaps literally). On a more serious note, I wonder if they'll hold off on Mox's heel turn when he returns since nobody will probably be booing him anytime soon.
