I'd bet 20 bucks Vince didn't get their gimmick. Probably not, no. Could see him thinking it was redundant with MVP and Street Profits, despite them all being very different. Vince is an 80 year old white guy, I'd be surprised if he understood anything relevant.

My only contribution is that I love the thread title. It makes Top Dolla sound like he did something absolutely badass, before ending with "into his foot."
Gets me every time I read it.

The Moral of the story is don't rhyme "Rap" with "Rap"... As a person who has tried his hand at making music, and has written a ton of rhymes, that's the nastiest thing you could ever do. Just the idea of rhyming "rap" with "rap" is pure wildness. Lol.

Vince is an 80 year old white guy, I'd be surprised if he understood anything relevant. I'd be surprised if he was especially invested in basically anything going on in the company right now. Even Roman's megapush, where he finally has had a lot of credibility and fan interest, has largely turned into autopilot. Throw in a culture he has like zero understanding of, and Hit Row may as well have been Martians.

If it's any consolation to Top Dollar, I wouldn't even be shocked if this wasn't really much of a factor in his firing. Like, if it was, they probably wouldn't have fired Swerve, too. I'd bet 20 bucks Vince didn't get their gimmick. If someone pitched turning them to a 2021 version of Men On a Mission they'd be pushed to the moon

The guy had no idea Razor Ramon was Tony Montana, for crying out loud.

When Colt Cabana had to describe his style and his gimmick to Vince McMahon during his first run as Scotty Goldman... the only way Vince was able to understand it was connecting it to like a 1940's comedian So yeah...

The guy had no idea Razor Ramon was Tony Montana, for crying out loud. Right. Like, sometimes people exaggerate it, given multiple people have confirmed that "Pirate Paul Burchill ended because Vince didn't know what Pirates of the Caribbean was" for instance didn't happen and that he knew about that, but he's still very out of touch. Apparently, writers are basically told to assume Vince has never seen something and just be pleasantly surprised if he has.

The injury happened just as he was going to transition to a different character.

Just listened to the song in the OP and wow.
This is a guy who has actually released three albums?

Swerve I can see going to AEW and killing it. I'd be amazed if AEW were interested at all in Top Dolla. They need to sign the whole Stable. First they need more black dudes in the worse way. Secondly, they have a ready made feud with the young bucks. It makes perfect sense.

The Moral of the story is don't rhyme "Rap" with "Rap"... Rhyming "Wrap" with "Rap" however... ...yeah, you should probably avoid doing that, too.

It makes perfect sense. they don’t need to sign anyone top dolla and b-fab are green, ashante is meh, strickland is the only one worth signing in my opinion Particularly with how stacked their roster already is, and with how good Strickland is relative to his stablemates, I don't see the value in AEW signing all of Hit Row either. Anyone really want a potential main eventer spending his time elevating green stablemates?

Swerve could be a future main eventer for AEW, they really don't need the other 3 who honestly aren't that good and in the case of 2 of them still need a lot of development.
Top Dolla is shortly going to find out that Swerve is & always was the star of that group. I'd bet that someone from AEW & Impact has already contacted Swerve about signing for them, why Top Dolla hasn't heard from either.
