I loved the first film, but didn't care for the second one.

I didn't know this, but I just read an article and outside of a couple of occasions, Murray and Ramis haven't spoken in YEARS, unless something came up since that article was published Why? Are they mad at each other? Apparantly they had a falling out during Groundhog's Day-Creative Differences, and Bill was going through a divorce at the time, which made matters even worse

I heard a rumor a long time ago, that there were talks of a third GHOSTBUSTERS, which was to possibly star Chris Farley and Adam Sandler as long lost cousins of two of the original members.
Then Farley died, and Sandler's star blew up, and the project got canned.
Don't know how much truth there is to that, but there ya go. I think it should be left alone, for what it's worth.

Extreme Ghostbusters THE HORROR, THE HORROR Yeah let's add a women, make Ray a cripple, Peter is now Latino and Egon is apparently gay. Horray we made it politically correct! To be fair, looking back, I'd probably assume Egon was gay, if I knew what gay was when I have a HUGE Ghostbusters fan.

I heard that the video game was a go, but I'll be even happier with a third movie...ANYTHING to make up for the disappointment that was Ghostbusters 2.
Akroyd, Moranis, and Murray being on board is a good sign, but they need Harold Ramis, at the very least, to round things out, along with Ernie Hudson.
And it's likely CGI because, well...the guys are getting old.
Also, if Stiller's in it, that's fine, but unless there's a good reason why they can't have the original four together again, then I don't want to see anyone else working proton packs.

My childhood was forever wrapped because I didn't have a trap. I had damn near everything else Ghosterbusters related. My mom even went way out of her way to get me a proton pack...wish I still had it. It was all kinds of cool.

From aintitcool"Aykroyd was interviewed on the radio and talks about GB:Hellbent. It sounds like it actually will happen. Murray is aboard, but only if they do it CGI." Sounds good, but I don't know if I like the whole CGI thing.

The Ben Stiller thing has been going around for ages, i'm sure it came from something Harold Raimis said last year and eventually Dan Aykroyd had to come out and tell people the rumors of the 3rd film that Ramis was talking about weren't true.
In fact screw it, i'm gonna look -
Thats from November 2005
And this is from June 2006 -
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

In all seriousness, i am big fan of the Ghostbusters movies, and happy to see the third one finally come, despite it being nearly 20 years since the last one. There were plans in the 90s for a third one, but it fell through. I think it's obvious to me, they can't be all the same team, they have to have a younger Ghostbuster, either as a replacement or fifth Ghostbuster. Ben Stiller would be fine...

I'm actually thinking that a CG movie might be good, as long as they don't make it super-cartoony.
Except for Slimer.

I'm guessing they're not using Jay Sherman's script for this one then.

They've got to have Winston. I always loved Winston. The guy who made it in New York and became a hero to the city. All on hard work.
Now, when they say CGI, do they mean the whole film is an animated movie like the new Ninja Turtles movie? Or do they just mean the special effects will be in CGI?

Ben Stiller will kill this movie. And I have a feeling Cedrick The Entertainer will find his way into the film as well. I don't know how, but wherever there is a remake of a classic movie, Cedrick The Entertainer is there.

*Crosses fingers, and hopes the hell Hollywood never gets the idea to do a JAWS remake, with Martin Lawrence as Brody, Mike Epps as Hooper, and Cedric the Entertainer as Quint*
With Eddie Murphy as "The Shark"........*
