The egg was the end result of a marketing deal in which the thing that WWE got out of the deal couldn't be there and then WWE was still forced to do their own stupid little gimmick.
Had The Rock showed up in the end, it would have made a lot more sense, but apparently he couldn't make it but the contract said WWE still had to do that dumb promotion for the movie.

Eh... Zombies didn't do anything for me one way or the other really. it's fun making egg jokes... but the fact it was a hook that worked which lead to basically nowhere... pissed me off more I at least expected a goofy who dunnit... and not... like 3 vignettes where Vince was barely audible and then Austin Theory took it... cause he's dumb... and that's the end... Honestly, both should have had goofy follow ups and it’s one of the things the company used to excel at. For the badness of Undertaker vs. Undertaker, it did give us Leslie Nielson as Frank Drebin, Nielson vouching for George Kennedy to be involved and weeks of segments leading to the reveal of Fake ‘Taker and build to the actual match itself. Not all of it worked but it was something. The Egg not leading to Vince assigning two heel midcarders to investigate the roster in comedy segments or my long established idea of Maryse taking the WWE to court over her husband being eaten by zombies is crazy when you remember they once dedicated weeks of television, long segments, to implying Kane had sexual intercourse with the corpse of his dead girlfriend. And that a) wasn’t a sponsorship deal and b) objectively, was a ratings disaster.

This has been the direction the company was moving in long before Khan, it's just that with Netflix, they have Hollywood people willing to engage with them on it. Remember the guest host era? Or how they shaved all the edges off Cena and made him into 'The Marine' to promote the Marine, the nonsense with Kane. Same old nonsense as always, can't blame him for it any more than we can the cuts, the budget slashing and all chosen names were greenlit by Vince and Laurinaitis.

The Egg was stupid and didn't even get a Rock video to sell it. The Zombies was just silly fun. Vince and Rock are like a couple who had once been together for a while, then they split but are still friends and one moves on to much bigger and better things. The one left behind still longs for the relationship. Since they are still friends, the one invites the other with the better career to parties and events, that person attends but things will never be the same like the one person desires. The person left behind is Vince and his former employee has moved on to bigger and better things. While Rock is a mega hollywood star with few, if any rivals, now and in the past and is probably well known by so many in the U.S. and other countries, to non wrestling fans or those who knew of Vince's scandals, he's probably known as "that wrestling guy." I think if Vince so much as thought Rock would tweet him, Vince would hold a giant human turd on TV.

Didn't think I'd see the results right down the middle at 50-50.
FAN is quite divided on what we like best here.

Thats all Vince, not Nick Khan. For sure I do know that Khan wanted the zombies. I'm sure the details will come out on the Egg at the next quarterly conference call.
