It's a big guest get but it's still another musical act being used to sell a PPV. Call me old fashioned but I like my wrestling shows to revolve around wrestling. Uhhh...hope you realize that the WWF/WWE would not exist the way it does this way if it weren't for their music collaborations. Hell I'll go ahead and say it: if Cyndi Lauper didn't agree to what she did (and MTV refused to work with them), the World Wrestling Federation never would have made it past WrestleMania. I think she played a huge part in WWF's rise, but I definitely wouldn't go that far. It'd have taken him longer, but Vince had a lot of advantages in infrastructure that gave him an enormous advantage over AWA and Crockett, and those were the only two in any real position to fight his expansion for long.

Agree to disagree. Had she not gotten MTV fired up after her involvement making The Brawl to End it All as big of a ratings score as MTV ever got, I'm not convinced the WWF would've had the momentum to carry the numbers to make WrestleMania worth the money they pumped into it.

No but you might get promotion in media you might not otherwise. As for Migos, they have one of my favorite Rap Snacks flavors: <button disabled="" class="c-attachment-insert--linked o-btn--sm">Attachment Deleted</button> …ok, I need someone to tell me more about Rap Snacks immediately. I remember seeing them at one point at Spencer Gifts. Not sure if they still carry them.

Count me as another voice who doesn’t particularly care for Migos’ music, but follows the music industry enough to know these guys are a pretty big deal. There are plenty of times when WWE can be rightly criticized for being behind the times or out of touch with the cultural zeitgeist—but this isn’t one of those times.

I have no interest in musical guests at wrestling shows unless they've provided a wrestler's entrance music and are playing them to the ring. As much as I love wrestling, if I went to a concert and it stopped halfway through for a wrestling match, I wouldn't be impressed and this is the same.

For as out of touch, and oblivious to the times, the owner of the company is, it's stuff like this that makes me think that whoever is working at WWE that makes actual relevant big deals like this happen deserves a huge raise.

Agreed, and on top of that, the MTV connection is what allowed Hulk Hogan and Mr. T to be eleventh hour replacement co-hosts for Saturday Night Live, giving one last major push on network television for the event. If it weren't for that appearance, Wrestlemania doesn't turn a profit and WWF folds shortly after.

Sounds like a feta cheese brand.

Probably the biggest guest WWE's had in a great while. Migos is huge and Offset (Ric Flair Drip) is a member of Migos. Hell, people say the word "drip" because Migos. Without them popularizing the word it wouldn't be used as much as it's used these days especially from wrestlers with the Ric Flair connection. Is Offset, the Cardi B guy?

They're really nothing more than celebrity-endorsed junk food, the most common thing being potato chips with unique flavors (though they've started releasing ramen noodle cups as well). Again, I can't attest to their taste or quality since I've never had any of them (the art is just a bit much for me lol), but I suppose they're semi-popular if they've hit national chains as much as they have.

A quick Google tells me they have had one top 30 hit in the UK but are massive in America. Thank you! We're not out of touch, it's the Americans that are wrong.

I'm right there under that rock with you, because outside of this thread and having seen those Rap Chips or whatever they are in a Walmart last year, I otherwise have no earthly idea who Migos is.

In my case, I haven’t heard of them but I don’t usually go in corners of the internet where they’d be a thing so it’s less on me not knowing who they are but how big the media landscape is.
It’s why the casual audience argument never makes sense to me because nobody can pinpoint who that audience is when the biggest things can be seen or brought or streamed by millions and a large subsection of people would have no idea who they are.
EDIT: Basically, if trying to get a new audience to the product is the worst thing Nick Khan’s done involving WWE since he came in, then we’d all have less issues with the guy.
