Leslie Nielson had such a weird career. I love the guy and he's an absolute comedy legend for Airplane! and Naked Gun. Yet every other comedy movie he's had any kind of significant role in has been absolute hot garbage. Off the top of my head I think Surf Ninjas is probably the best movie he's been in outside those two, and if you have to hitch your star to Rob Schneider to get anywhere then things aren't looking good for you.

Out of the three Repossessed I have seen the most. Not cause it is great. Just that it aired on Showtime 2 or 3 times a week for what felt like a year.
2001 was horrid. Had a buddy years ago that had an antenna that got him 2 channels and then his vhs and dvd collection.
Took him out one day to the used media places and he found 2001 space travesty for 4 bucks, back when new DVDs were 25 to 40 bucks and used one was at least 10. Both were kind of excited for a new Nelson film.
Stop by the Howard E Butts grocery store to get popcorn and chips. Go back to his tiny apartment and watch that movie. Less than a week later he traded it back into the used media store for a buck store credit.
Spy Hard I forget about until I hear the Weird Al theme song.

I think he'd just reached the stage where he was happy to goof around and get paid for it. He seemed in interviews like a fun guy, and since that part of his career only started in his mid 50s, he was basically never out of work for the rest of his life. The movies were garbage but enough people liked the persona he'd created he could live on it, like the Bushwhackers or guys like that where they could just turn up, run through the basics and that was that.

Anyone ever see the golf videos Leslie made? I know nothing about golf, but Bad Golf Made Easier was kind of funny IMO.

I actually saw Spy Hard and remember liking it when I saw it in the theater. Since then I've only seen select scenes from it. As for Reposessed, the funniest moment comes from Gene Okerlund and Jesse Ventura's guest appearance:
Gene: Steroids arent used in wrestling anymore! Jesse: Or any less

I remember liking Repossessed when I randomly rented it one weekend, but damn it does not hold up after watching this video. Spy Hard definitely is the strongest of those three.

I watched Spy Hard on Disney+ when it was first added. Thought it was Wrongfully Accused as well. He definately was a talented guy but neither role really played to his strengths. Couldn't tell a single line of his or really memorable funny gag. Dracula: Dead and Loving It wasn't perfect but i can at least remember the mirrored dancing scene and "Renfield you asshole!" I'd go as far to say his performances in Scary Movie 3 and 4 and Superhero Movie were better.
Never seen Repossesed or Travesty and i can't say i'm rushing to tracl them down.

A defense of Dennis the Menace. Honestly an okay movie. Really enjoyed it as a kid. Watched it again about 3 or 4 years ago, it was fine. I like Walter Matthau and Christopher Lloyd, so what’s to hate?
