It's the same thing I've been saying for awhile.
Stop expecting there to be a rock bottom to Vince and WWE saying shit like this.
There is no bottom. Once they find the next most offensive thing they can say, they'll say it.
All you can do is decide if you want to eat the shit and delude yourself into saying you like the taste, or cut it off.

The mr McMahon character is an asshole and was famous for using "you're fiiiirreed" in the attitude era and beyond. Vince McMahon the person is a more complicated asshole who has fired people in reality for incredibly stupid reasons as well as valid reasons. Even most of the nice things Vince has done come from being an asshole IMO. Hired back Jimmy Wang Yang on a whim? Just flexing his power that he can hire someone without a thought. Rehab for former talents. PR and trying his best to keep anyone from looking too closely at his business affairs.

Why would you even say that? Like what does it accomplish? I think this was Vince McMahon speaking truth in plain sight tonight. I wouldn't be surprised if a bunch of people got released in the next week or so. What a scummy company man. It honestly deserves to go out of business. Wonderful, instead of a certain percentage of people being out of a job, let's put 100% of the people out of a job. Brilliant insight.

It’s very simple. We just need to separate Vince the character from Vince the person. Vince the character, who is portrayed and written by Vince the person, enjoys firing people. This is not be confused with Vince the person, who has legitimately fired over 200 people in under two years.

I just thought it was a reference to when he fired Commisioner Foley on Christmas.

He also apparently enjoys driving millions of people away from watching his product over the last twenty years.

I have long since giving this company a single cent of my money, but at this point I don't think I can morally justify giving them a single second of my viewing time. Utterly disgusting morally bankrupt evil company.

The dude's out there explicitly and deliberately talking about real things he actually really does for heat and people still going "he's in CHARACTER guys" "No Vince isn't an evil boss, he just plays one by relishing on-screen in firing people while in real life engaging in mass cuts of on-screen talent and backstage office workers while posting record profits. It's just a TV show." "No Vince isn't a sex creep he's just playing a hound dog who sexually harasses female talent by making uncomfortable women have to kiss their boss on-screen while in reality being uncomfortable women who had to kiss their boss on-screen." "Enjoying using his money and leverage to make people humiliate themselves is just a character trait, the real man only has a history of humiliating Jim Ross, saddling people with gimmicks making fun of them, and putting people into embarrassing situations on-screen for his own amusement." The unfortunate truth is that the Mr. McMahon character has probably always just been wish fulfilment. So many of his negative character traits were also just. His actual character traits. That he used that position on-screen to play out power fantasies that were always much closer to the real man than people want to admit.

I think I'm most offended by Vince continuing to be a character on TV. The gimmick's been tired and old for like 20 goddamn years.

People say the most effective gimmicks are the real person turned up to 11 People forget that the character 'Mr McMahon' was born of a very real interview Vince gave the night after he very legitimately screwed Bret Hart out of his job live on air.

He had done a Mr McMahon character in some Memphis appearances before that interview.
