Question did Taker or WWE get pissed that Chainz was using The Undertaker gimmick in this movie? Aren't they best friends? He probably had Takers permission.

According to Bruce Prichard they've had heat for years. Doesn't seem like it's anything to do with the movie though, which 'Taker seems to get a kick out of. https://www.instagram.com/p/CQDXFsMtHrH

I'm not familiar with how it all works but with the low bail and the light sentence I figured he served very little time. The fact that he likely wasn't even in jail a for day makes the convict Crush character even more silly. If they wanted to be more accurate and real maybe they should've brought him back as movie star Crush instead where he would be this delusional heel who thinks he's a big star because he had a bit part in one Bollywood movie. I mean, he was essentially fired on TV due to his arrest and was gone for 18 months. The convict gimmick actually made for some good continuity within the company, more so than a gimmick based on a bit part in a movie nobody watching would even know existed. Was his arresnt mentioned on TV before he came back? I admit I wasn't the most vigilant fan back then, but I just remember him being gone, and then coming back as Convict Crush.

I was 11 at the time when Todd mentioned Crush was arrested. He used the word "terminated" which I've only ever heard of from the Arnold movies so I thought for sure that someone in WWF killed Crush. It wasn't until I asked someone what terminated really meant, that I found out it meant fired.

His arrest was mentioned on WWF Mania not long after the fact, along with confirmation that he'd been fired. Seems a little petty, but on his podcast JR says Vince was furious with Crush due to his arrest making the news not long after the steroid trial and wanted to make an example of him.

I used to get in heated debates with people about Crush needing to be fired for good or put in a non wrestling bodyguard role but I'm done falling on that sword. Crazy thing is, if he had been let go in August 94 when he was taken off TV, he wouldn't have been with WWF when the arrest happened. Vince himself seemed shocked Crush was still with WWF when he came out for the rumble 95. Seems like Pat Patterson knew Crush was still under contract and needed an extra body.

It was apparently the reason why Lee was released from the WWF in 1998.
