So many of the 80s wrestlers seemed like they were around for alot longer then they actually were I have to think a lot of that is due to the overall presentation of the WWF changing a lot from 1984 through 1994 or so; the cameras they used, the way matches were shot, the sets for promos or segments, the graphics they used to present the TV shows, etc. all seemed to change quite a bit on a fairly regular basis, making even just a span of a year feel like it's own mini "era". Today, if you transported someone from 2002 to 2022 and showed them an episode of Raw, they'd be forgiven if they didn't really see a whole ton of difference in presentation outside of HD effects.I'd say there's a World of difference between today and 2002, for better or worse. You have to realize, 2002 came off the heels of the Attitude Era, so they were still trying to be edgy. Plus, there was no WWE network, NXT, women were still treated as eye candy instead of actual wrestlers, the rosters were different, as well as the arenas. If there's anything similar back then to today is the stop/start booking with pushes and angles. I even did a thread on how the November 19, 2001 episode of RAW was the start of the never-ending creative downturn that we're still feeling the effects of today.
