It is legitimately cultish. A lot of cults and other high control groups are biiiig on "We're your family now." Welcome to Corporate America. "We're like a family" is such corporate bullshit. These days, it's widely known and acknowledged as Red Flag #1 of a toxic workplace. That's worth asking for a salary/wage at least 30% above industry average as a starting point in negotiations or, if you have absolutely no plan to take the position, launching into a long, overly-descriptive tale of an abusive childhood raised by narcissistic and/or drug-addled parents, insanely old-school or psychotic relatives and multiple failures and pushback by authorities until aging out of the child-welfare system and filing multiple restraining orders against one's family before asking if that's the kind of family the company is. I've reading a lot of Reddit this week.

Well, it is like a family. The part that they leave out is that it’s like a very dysfunctional one that nobody ever wants to invite to gatherings.

I can totally see Vince becoming a cult figure who started a religion if he hadn't already had an "in" in the russling business. When WWF was in its infancy in the early 80s and 90s and the cults were still big, would be his best opportunity. Luckily now, I think the future generation of his sports entertainers are smart enough or at least knowledgeable enough on social media to see what others think and have had issues with.

I have absolutely no idea if any of the reviews/complaints are valid, and I admittedly have never really been a fan of the WWE.. most of those reviews just sound like people on here who based a negative review off of hearsay.
Your entry level data, secretarial, etc. employee is going to likely have limited to no interaction with tippy top management let alone Vince, and I have serious doubts that people who are likely hourly employees are walking around corporate headquarters worrying about getting "future endeavored" or "released" as one person put it.

Because I had nothing to do I read through every single review in that thread. Many of them could easily have been fake, some of them obviously read like they were, but some had enough specific detail about the internal structure to ring true.

If you pretend to work somewhere just so you can leave a bad review for a tv show you don't like anymore, you might be in loser smark territory. Maybe a few of those are real, but that site has a poor rep for a reason. At least make it satirical or something amusing.

That’s some ridiculous loser type shit.

I'm quite amused by the idea of a wrestler thoughtfully reading through Glassdoor reviews before deciding whether to work for WWE.

I hate that I grew up loving this company all my life. It truly is a garbage company and it's ran by complete trash people. I couldn't ever imagine working in such a toxic environment like that.
Thanks to the Saudi and TV deals, they don't even have to worry about putting on good shows or making the fans happy anymore. It's all about pleasing an audience of one... which is Vince. And now he has his yes men Bruce, Laurainitis and Khan with him making it all 100 times worse.
I never thought I'd say it but I wouldn't be upset if the company went out of business in the next few years. It won't happen but I genuinely think it would be great for the wrestling business. And before anyone talks about "wrestlers losing their jobs"... more promotions would be created as a result, as there would be a higher talent pool. Everyone would be better off in my opinion.

People should do kayfabe reviews as wrestlers. "I split, just like all these other employees are splitting, but the difference between them and me is I'm going to leave with the WWE championship...."

Listen to Jade Cargill (AEW) on Talk Is Jericho today regarding her experience. WWE was EXTREMLEY intrusive when attempting to hire her. Based on some of the stuff she was saying, it seems like WWE is really trying to get new people that are DEPENDENT on them. Jade has a degree and didn't/doesn't need wrestling. She loves it, but doesn't need it. I think this is why they are so eager about NIL. Nab them early. Keep them from ever knowing better alternatives exist. Makes sure you trademark every aspect of them making their income entirely reliant on WWE.

Same here. For over 20 years I have not been able to believe that the mild mannered, meek, kindly commentator Vince is actually THE same human being who became Mr. McMahon on TV as an extension of his real life persona. Very few people are THAT good of an actor that they can portray such a character when being such pure evil in real life. I'm able to reconcile myself with the fact that none of my good memories had to do with Vince. He was an afterthought in the 80s and early 90s on TV and by time he got worse I stopped watching. I am grateful to so many of the wrestlers, managers and others for making my childhood bareable, their talent is what got over-not anything Vince did for them except for that good old guaranteed "opportunity."

Just a disclaimer: Glassdoor does zero checks on if the person leaving the review actually worked there or not. Any random person can leave a review. came here to reiterate this...It is worse than using Wikipedia in a book report Wikipedia is actually pretty reliably sourced.

Yeah this is the rajah of review sites. WWE may or may not have a hostel work environment. I can see Vince and co luring unsuspecting victims to be killed in horrific ways.

Do y’all remember that Vince promo where he said he was going to inject a lethal dose of poison into the WWF and kill his own creation? It’s coming to fruition and he’s his own poison

I would take it with a heap of salt because the ratings are unverified and this site has been brought to fandom attention before so it's undoubtedly subjected to review bombing.

This argument has been around for as long as a large number of the fanbase hates the WWE product - which you can say has gotten louder and more noticeable over the past decade and a half, but really has existed for as long as the internet has. The only thing has been injected into the WWE in that timeframe is more and more money.

This is true, but also true is that it hasn't just been wrestlers getting axed. WWE has completely gutted and folded in a number of their divisions the past couple of years. I can pretty easily believe that some of the many people fired who weren't onscreen talents have a grudge over that. I imagine it's likely a mixture of both real reviews and fans hijacking things.
