Steve Blackman with his glowsticks in the Andre I mean, if there was Justice in the world, this would happen.

WrestleMania is the perfect time to get the legends involved. That’s part of the appeal and draw of the show and has been for years and years. Part of the appeal. That's a key phrase that WWE's losing, it's starting to become their only drawing point, that's the issue here that people keep talking about dude. Not at all. As of now, there’s zero “legends” scheduled for matches. If they add Austin and another old-timer, we’re still talking about two matches on a 2-night 8-hour card of probably 16 matches.

Brock Lesnar main eventing again, Ronda Rousey main eventing again, and potentially Johnny Knoxville for an IC Title match are also booked. You can wave this away all you want, it's a problem, and it's not just two matches, it's all over the Mania cards, part timers, older wrestlers, and celebrities in matches, while guys like Seth Rollins reportedly have no Mania plans. It sticks out like a sore thumb and gets more noticeable with every new announcement or report.

Sounds like it's gonna be The Rock. It'll be done to promote next year's main event.

Remember the quip Heenan made about Sheikhy finally making it to the ring at WM38?
Guess which Wrestlemania it is…?

Honestly, it’s either gotta be Rock or Cody. I def consider Cody Austin level, considering he started up their rival promotion. This would be like if Vince sold wwf and appeared as a part of the nwo in 1998

I’m really not seeing it as a problem, especially when you phrased it as them relying on legend cameos, which they are not. Lesnar and Ronda are present on TV on a near-weekly basis, too. Edge is present for much of the year. Bringing in a few names from the past in addition to that to give WrestleMania a different feel than the rest of the year is a positive, in my opinion.

Austin level limits this to Inoki, El Santo and Stu Hart. I'd watch any of those matches.

Yeah, Brock is barely a part-timer right now. He's been on TV almost weekly since returning at Summerslam which is part of the reason (alongside the face turn and getting to cut his own promos) why he's been so good lately. He feels like an actual character on the show interacting with a bunch of different people and not like someone just parachuted in to complete a single task before disappearing again like previous years. He's also being advertised for the PPV after Wrestlemania so it seems like he's sticking around. And he in no way comes across like an old or broken down guy. He's probably the most credible pro wrestling star in the world right now. And Ronda isn't really a part-timer at all. She's signed a similar deal to last time. Will be working basically every PPV, will have TV matches and is even being advertised for house shows. Only 2 of 14 matches last year featured one-off legends or celebs (Shane vs. Braun and the Bad Bunny tag) and both were surprisingly enjoyable. The year before it was 5 out of 19 and 3 of them put over a full-time guy (Lesnar, Cena, Goldberg). Really the only old timer returning for Mania this year would be Austin (and maybe Lita if she's sticking around after EC) and they're definitely not "relying" on that. They already sold over 100,000 tickets before those rumors even started and it'll likely be a quick match to pop the Texas crowd, not like a main event dream match or anything.

It really frustrates me, not necessarily in this case but in general, when Brock gets thrown in with Goldberg, Undertaker (and now maybe Austin?), even the Rock. Brock is like a decade younger than those guys and has been doing this the last ten years straight at nearly every big ppv. He can still go, still looks the part. Doesn't look old and broken down at all. Even if he was still part time and missing a lot, I still don't include him with the old farts in their mid fifties. But now he's around a lot, which is an extra bonus

In all seriousness... I'd accept Gimmick Battle Royale 2 as an "Austin level" surprise
