As good as it was, the purpose was kinda undermined when Cena just showed up a year later without a mention of what happened to him.

It was fun for some novelty stuff, but I'm glad that Cena has Peacemaker, since him putting over Bray this much led to basically no real change for Bray's fortunes himself, and kind of made it where I don't even know how you'd walk back, like, any of this. Two years later, with Bray gone from the company, I wouldn't be surprised if by John's next appearance, that whole episode was treated as non-canon. It already has been. When he showed up to challenge Roman there was no mention of it.

This was my absolute favorite thing from 2020 wrestling. It was wild, bizarre, kinda made no sense, but made total and complete sense. I've watched it probably 10 or 15 times. It's crazy to go back and watch now with all the hindsight of what happened with the pandemic and what that year brought us. It's crazy to think about how John Cena really put it all out there with those things that were said and how he was portrayed. I can't see any other top star ever doing something like this. The only one that even comes to mind that might even entertain the idea would be Mick Foley.
